Pop a Grail of Might or any +1 attribute item.
Then use a +1 to Prot Prayers (20% chance) weapon until you get Protective Bond at -2 energy per hit.
Afterwards, what's the build for the VERY old Protective Bond farmer?

Or you can do it at 12, and take 2 prot bonders, and get -2 split between two of em.
imo.
Or do yours and get -1.

I don't know about that.
When I could get Prot Bond down to -1 energy, I could go AFK in UW and come back two hours later and still be alive. That's with all the Aatxes and Grasping Darknesses attacking me.
That was before Undying Nightmare's where introduced though.
I remember using something like this: (attributes I can't remember)

If you're gonna use that (^^) then you would need to wack on something with a sword... balth spirit gives you adren in points not strikes...
EDIT: btw its Dying Nightmares

Shielding hands breaks essence bond. After shielding hands reduces damage to 0 essense bond doesn't give energy anymore. Which would break the build.

Not when you go up agianst the smites that = dead sin.There is an officer in my guild doing this smites have SoJ.I miss a build like that though with no SoJ just ZF or BA.

The real question is: why care? Even if you figure something out, it won't change a thing as you already got PS+SoA/SH which leads to the same effect (i.e.: invincibility, can tank anything).

If you had to pay for a grail each time you used it, I'm not sure how efficient this would be at earning money. The normal 55s work, and don't require a skill point, mats, etc.
Good find, though. I haven't thought about this in ages.

0 is still counted as an amount of damage taken, so Essence Bond and Balth Spirit are still activated.
I'd love a screenie if you can prove otherwise though, it's been a few weeks since I've been able to play.
Edit: I also have to agree with cerb on this one- PS does the job fine, we don't really need to waste money on items to get the pre-nerf Prot Bond back.

Tested and confirmed, Essence Bond does NOT trigger on 0 dmg. Balthazar's Spirit does trigger.

Sorry had to laugh at that as been reading uw threads and think of the mindflays and the sig - invincibility, can tank anything .... dont work if they remove your enchants.
But even sins will die from mindflays.
Btw there is no invincible build - theres a lot of almost invincible builds tho as invincible means cannot die basically so even if an idiot used it they survive .. and we all know how anet ensures almost every skill now has a counter of some sorts
And fleeting read on wiki about essence bond as its explained there and odly is correct as ive tried it - you can test as 55 monk and at times you take a total of +1 nrg instead of +2 nrg.

You can have another monk do this and both of you get -1.
I do not recommend this, as you can crash your game, and possibly the servers, by causing an overflow of an infinite stream of numbers.

Yes, he needs to prevent multiple copies from splitting the energy cost, and increase the energy loss. It's still possible to do that and crash the servers.
