It's always worth it.
You can always set some skills to your mouse buttons on the side if you have them, I always do it with twitchy skills.

In addition to the benefit of using your mouse to kite and getting your skills off faster, you need keys for weapon swapping. It makes a big difference for monks.
I'd suggest starting with weapon swapping since it's the easiest. You can then move on to using just 2 skills with keys and gradually increase that over time.

practice using the keys. it will become much easier. the mouse is just to slow.
practice while you're in ab/ra. thats practice area, not serious play.

If you're clicking your party screen and your skillbar constantly, you are not, in any circumstances, or anything somewhat close to, a decent monk.
Besides RA and AB are silly jokes. woh veil patient stances, yeah, joke.

the thing is you need your mouse to move
you'll know when you're beyond the level of only-noobs-think-i'm-decent-at-guild-wars when you map out skills and other hotkeys to most of your keyboard and use the mouse to move and click on party members while monking with your party window closed for even more visibility of the battlefield.
hey, koreans do it, and they>you

Watch MyM Moon play a game of WCIII, you'll see the advantages of using hotkeys...then again clicking in RA is not bad.

I like the party window open as I know who has a hex or condition.

It's not that you're asking for tips, but once you get used to using hotkeys for skills, bind skill 7 to q and skill 8 to e.
You really don't want to move your hand over a third of your keyboard just to end up hitting the wrong button.

How about this for a joke?
I took this from the skill usage data from the October 2008 tournament finals.
WoH = top 5 most equipped elite and top 5 most used skill
Holy Veil = top 5 most equipped skill
Patient Spirit = top 5 most used skill
And just to top it off right, one of the most equipped elite was a stance!
I have an idea for all you flamers out there; have a clue what you’re talking about. Just to change things up a bit.
Flame on people, flame on!

warriors endurance isnt on a monk, so why bother bringing that here?
as for woh, ps, veil, those are all good skills in the correct hands. if a scrub dosnt know how to preveil, then its a shitty skill to have. if your a red bar monk, your veil is bad. thats the point here.
