so i just made an elementalist but i just didnt like him so i deleted him. i have had a monk 2 different times, 1st a smiter/earth magic then deleted her then a bonding monk but deleted her too. i have all chars but no ele,war,or monk and i dont want a war or ele so that leaves monk. i dont want to heal or prot so i dont need any builds for those only smiting. and i only do PVE so no pvp builds please. thnx for any replies in advance ^_^ it doesnt have to be all smiting either so just any smiting builds u guys like or think up is fine

You might wait until after the update to see if they buff any smiting elites. If the crazy, fake-looking update notes are real, then PvE-smiting may be very different.

Equipment: Radiant, 40/40 Smiting Set.

I believe those 3 skills would deal decent damage compared to some Ele nukes, with the advantage of being Armor Ignoring and causing double damage to Undead (yay for Holy damage), making it even better in Hard Mode - doesn't cause scatter either.

Optional Skills:

E-management: Castigation Signet, Auspicious Incantion, Ether Signet.

Damage: Cry of Pain (requires a Mesmer Hex), "Finish Him", Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support, Pain Inverter, "You Move Like a Dwarf!".

Support: Smite Hex, Smite Condition, Reversal of Damage, Smiter's Boon, Rebirth.

Have fun, soon people will come up with a really good build for this. I'm just throwing some ideas around.

I've played Ray in Shards of Orr and to be honest I liked the old better.
The reason is that I used to play spike (with 3 or 4 Ray smiters) and not tankway.
The new Ray allows the healers to heal up if you don't use some form of shutdown.
Having said that, I can see some nice usage for the new Ray.

Should have stayed with an Ele lol, they can smite pretty well.

I've also been looking for a build that utilizes the new RoJ...perhaps using it in conjunction with the dual boon build for an offensive support monk?

RoJ + some fire ele skills or RoJ + some signets with mes secondary works (use mes skill tht reduces recharge on signets)

Reversal of Damage
Smite Hex
Signet of Rage
Castigation Signet
Pain Inverter
Technobabble

It's so much fun, castigation signet is there for energy management if needed but most mobs drop in seconds because the minions bunch them together, they get SS'd from my necro, bombed by the minions and I come in with RoJ aka ION CANNON to finish the job.
