Sometimes the hench available has [[protective spirit]. At that time I would use [[Spirit Bond (Pve)] instead. In the other occasions the henchs available have stuff to deal with conditions. At that point I would replace [[Draw conditions] for a small prot: [[Shield of Absorption] (but that is nightfall), [[Guardian] or [[Shielding hands].

I was just thinking, why not use [guardian] instead of [aegis]?

[[Aegis (PvE)] is a really strong fire and forget skills. While 10e is a high cost for a monk the recharge make it affordable. Heroes and Henchs with [[Aegis (PvE)] generally chain it good enough.
In 4 people areas [[guardian] is probably better than [[aegis (pve)]. Nothing prevent to use both though. Both are strong skills.

I wouldn't even run Prot spirit in NM, unless you micromanage it. The monks throw it around like water. Aegis would be a much better solution to your problems.
Honestly, you really want to be running a N/Rt as a hero. They are just better.

N/Rt "prots" are much much weaker.

This... but since you said you don't have nightfall, replace [Dismiss Condition] with [Mend Condition]
atts w/ minor runes should be 14 heal, 11 prot, 9 divine

Heroes have been observed using [[Protective Spirit] on players before the players actually enter aggro range of the enemy, so they're not completely useless when it comes to preprotting. If you have issues, micromanage the hero monk as the situation allows.

Unless you intend to run 2 Woh prots, which would allow you to chain [[Aegis (PVE)] or maintain [[Guardian] on more than one ally, you might want to consider dropping [[Aegis (PVE)]. It becomes a wasted slot when numerous enemies are training a single target. Even in cases with a handful of physicals attacking your party, you can only block those foes for 9 secs (at 10 prot) out of every 30, and it may take you more than 9 secs to finish that group.
