You lack any direct method to apply damage to your target for AP to trigger.
Guru has gwbbcode disabled because of an email conflict that they can't resolve.

I idea was not to be some smite hybrid AP caller, more to take advantage of AP to recharge both selfless and seed of life.
Thanks for your input

If that is your idea then why go with smiting at all? AP is only worthwhile if you can ensure the target is going down, and without any smites to actually put them down there is no guarantee.
So why not take the general idea you stated (Using AP to recharge Selfless and Seed) which is not a bad idea at all, and convert it to protection or healing? Maybe look at some of the longer recharge heals/prots to utilze AP more effectively as well (Aegis comes to mind).
But then again you may be a lot like me and healing/protting just isn't your thing, which is perfectly fine. In that case perhaps use your optional slot for a good finisher (finish him, you move like a dwarf, ebon assassin support, etc) Also I've never had much luck with smiter's boon. Personally if I was going full smite idea then I'd run something like: AP, YMLAD, FH/Ebon Assassin, Reverse Damage, Smite Hex, Smite Condition, Seed, Bane sig (or some other direct damage skill)

unless your running discord (or some other high damadge hero setup) then this build isnt that great.
but w/ heros adn such to bring enemies down it looks like a good idea.. but id put more.. high recharge spells in( to get the full effect)
overall not a bad idea( this really only works if your good at protting.. aka not me )

You have to remember that AP will only recharge when something dies so unless you just want to risk casting it when the target is almost dead then it will work. As suggested I would either forget it all together or bring some hex/condition/etc to trigger it. The build Uriel suggested should work well with EVAS, and YMLAD. Give it a try and see how it goes. If you are doing HM I would also consider bringing PI with it as it is a strong hex and with AP recharging it you can deal lots of damage in a short amount of time.

Its hardly worth taking AP just to recharge 2 skills. The rest have pretty decent recharges

gurucode no long works, at least I don't think it does. Its not for me for awhile.
Anyway, do you really need selfless spirit with that setup? If you want to use it I'd put divine boon in there to make a basic AP boon smite build. You could also use Judge's Insight, Judge's Intervention, Zealot's Fire, Strength of Honor, Balthazar's Aura, Signet of Devotion or a hard rez

Uh the rest of your team? And target something they are actually killing? This is no different than AP boonprot.
Also JDRyder read updates, divine boon is useless to smiters.

Its better if you go prot:
[build prof=Mo/A prot=12+1+1 divine=10+1 Deadly=8][Assassins Promise][Reversal of Fortune][Protective Spirit][seed of life][Shield of Absorption][Optional][Aegis][Divine [email protected]][/build]
- [[Selfless Spirit]
- [[Divine Spirit]
When playing with H/H, call your target when you use [[Assassin's Promise].

yea ac1inferno - i was gonna use AP and hope heroes would kill target, which they most likely will.
But instead of abusing AP to recharge Aegis (which is a great idea) i would use it to be able to spam smite skills.
Thanks for all the inputs

If the goal is just to be able to spam smites, then forget AP. Go Mo/Ra, put 12 in Wilderness Survival, and equip Serpent's Quickness. That will boost the recharge of everything, including signets, and you don't give up your elite slot so you can take RoJ. Take RoJ, two or three signets (Castigation, Rage, Bane), and a couple of other direct damage smites (e.g., Banish, Spear of Light). You can spam them all day long without ever having an energy problem.

Or , you can drop 2 WSurvival points and use Dwarven Stability + GDW for a nice dmg buff and or Judge Insight. AP recharges them every 6 secs or so , hard to match that anyway.
