Default Which primary for a mesmer?

So I tried a mesmer in Random Arenas, and I was laughing out loud by the end of the match. I had illusionary weaponry but I forgot to bring a sword so I was basically stuck with using Clumsiness and Blackout. These were good enough to kill most people, however, and I had so much fun.

So... I decided to make a Mesmer in factions campaign.

So my question is, which primary profession is better? Elementalist? Or Mesmer? Fast casting was nearly useless in Prophecies, but now they have some elites that use that attribute. However, Energy storage is also great. So, which should I do? Energy Storage, or fast casting?

Thanks to whoever answers...

Go with a Me, Me/E is still viable (FC Spiker), E/Me not so much (if you plan on playing it as Me that is). Also FC allows you to fast res and it makes inters more difficult. And you will get a lot of those in Factions. Just make sure you cap Elemental Attunement for your FC spike build. If memory serves me right, it's in the Undercity in Factions. You don't need E-storage as a Me, you can achieve the same with E-management, which Me are adept at.
