I use this on my mesmer in pve: 1.Clumsiness 2. Ineptitude 3. Power return, Power spike, 4. Ether feast, 5. Energy tap 6.Shater hex 7. Wastrells worry. 8Res sig
There may be better builds, if you dont like it feel free to criticize it. I am open to any suggestions. But considering the AI of mobs in pve, it works fine for me and i dont run into low energy issues. Wastrells worry works great vs. bosses in Tyria as the hex ends sooner. And it has two interrupts to deal with the casters.
Oh and the attributes are FC: 9-minor rune
Domination: 12-superior rune
Illusion: 10 or so-minor rune
Inspiration: 10 or so -minor rune
Attribute points may not be exactly precise, asi am not sure if i remember it correctly. I can post exact numbers when i get home.
Oh and a big WELCOME TO THE MESMER COMMUNITY from me to everyone new to this great profession. Its just bad that so many players ignore mesmers in pve.

This is going to be a stupid question, but the problem I have always had with all of the interupts, except inspired hex, is that I can never tell in a crowd of enemy, which ones are the ones doing the casting. They all look the same, and most of the time they are all named the same. This makes it very difficult to use interupts.,,,, other than inspired hex, which you can use even if you have nobody targeted.

Can`t you just look below their life-bar at the top of your screen that indicates which spell they are casting? Thats how I do it, I try to catch the spell before the bar completes itself.
I can`t think of the word, but maybe its a problem with your screen setup.

With Elementalists and Necromancers, they get the burden of having a huge animation surrounding them as they do their spell, so you can pick them off that way. Other than that, it's only best to memorize their names ^^.

Dont know what a life bar is first of all. But when they cast spells, it shows up in the top left corner,,, and with Inspired hex, it doesnt matter if I know who is casting it or not, I can hit inspired hex and it intercepts it.. But there is NO way to tell WHO or WHAT enemy is doing the spell casting.. Just because it shows up in the top left corner of the screen, it does not show who is doing it. Therefore it makes it impossible to attack that person or use an intercept spell to remove it.... Other than Inspired Hex.. which as I said, it dont matter if you know who cast the spell or not..
Sometimes I get 4 or 5 of them showing up in the top left corner, and not a clue who is casting them. Making it impossible for me to interupt them 90% of the time.. The other 10% of the time, the spell is highlighted in pink, then I know I can use my inspired hex spell to remove it.

Life Bar is the red bar that is on the top middle portion of your screen when you target someone (friend or foe or neutral character).
Underneath that will appear a progression bar for whatever skill/signet/spell they choose to use.
The only why to tell who is doing what is to quickly scan every character around you. You'll see animation movements and if you press tab to scroll across the enemies, you'll see what each is doing.
Just by looking, you won't see who's doing what (animation will show attacks or spells or maybe skills being used, but not what skill/spell/signet, nor will you see who is being targetted).

I think you are a little confused.
Inspired Hex is NOT an interrupt. All it does is remove a hex from you (default) or one of your party members (if you have them targeted), and then it gives you access to that skill for a short period of time.
By default, the area in the upper left is where indicators are placed that show what effects are currently active on your character. It is NOT the area to look to find what others are casting.
When you target someone, it will show their health bar (with their name in it) near the top middle of your screen. It will also show when they are casting (called the skill warm-up bar) just under their health bar. (those are the default psoitions right?)
The only way to have a successful interrupt is to time your interrupt so that it activates while thier skill is activating (click your interrupt when their warm up bar is active and light is moving from left to right). If you are successful the warm-up bar will turn purple and the skill will not activate.
If you want to see what different people/monsters are casting just target them and look under their health bar for a warm-up bar (you can press tab to cycle through your opponents).
I hope that helps
