[skill]Power Block[/skill] really is fantastic. [skill]Ineptitude[/skill] is also a lot of fun.
My aching heart really wants [skill]Enchanter's Conundrum[/skill] to be useful, but all it amounts to is a nice damage spike with [skill]Shatter Delusions[/skill] and occasionally with [skill]Shatter Enchantment[/skill] in the middle.
(I love this icon thing ^_^)

Aha! I was right, everyone does use around the same elite skills, e-surge, migrane, inep, power-block, MoR. I hate it most of these skills are from the first campaign. (except Hex-eater vortex) I would love to see builds with new elites in em! Enchanter conundrum ^_^ I like that skill, if only it would doo a little more dmg. E-surge in my opinion, is not only used for its dmg but also its e-denial.

[skill]Arcane Languor[/skill]
Domination
[skill]Psychic Distraction[/skill]
[skill]Power Block[/skill]
[skill]Power Flux[/skill]
Illusion
[skill]Air of Disenchantment[/skill]
Inspiration
[skill]Keystone Signet[/skill]
[skill]Power Leech[/skill]
[skill]Lyssa's Aura[/skill]
No Attribute
[skill]Signet of Midnight[/skill]
Seriously, I like them all and I love to play by switching build to build
I dont really have any reason about Keystone Signet. Just having fun to play with it. I have a preference with the Inspiration magic and interruption skills.

This post implies it is possible to choose a favourite mesmer elite.
I guess if pushed I could maybe narrow it down to 5:
[skill]Hex Eater Vortex[/skill][skill]Expel Hexes[/skill][skill]Power Block[/skill][skill]Ineptitude[/skill][skill]Mantra of Recovery[/skill]
Out of those...I really couldn't choose.

my favourite:
[skill]Arcane Languor[/skill]
the other two that get quite some action (actually even more then my favourite since i am almost exclusively a pve player - although i hadn't set foot into anything pvp-ish after i gave up all hopes of aspy ever getting fixed!):
[skill]Psychic Distraction[/skill] [skill]Shatter Storm[/skill]

My favourite mesmer elite at the moment is [skill]Mantra of Recall[/skill]
Never had a single problem with energy management since putting that on the bar

Hex Eater Vortex. I don't get what the heck a creepy-eyed lady has to do with the icon, but the name and effect are win.

In PvE I like to use [skill]Assassin's Promise[/skill], far better than [skill]Mantra of Recovery[/skill], when playing Domination.
When I use Illusion I usually take [skill]Ineptitude[/skill].

[skill]Psychic Distraction[/skill]
I just Love this sweet interruption skill, spammable (If your clever enough to manage energy) and disables skills.
[skill]Echo[/skill]
1 simple reason, Echo + Blackout + RA = fun + lots of flaming and compliments. Nothing beats a massive long line of disabling all skills.
[skill]Arcane Languor[/skill]
It's just rather different from most forms of shut down, and combine with power leak makes for good e denial and interruptions.

[skill]echo[/skill]
[skill]visions of regret[/skill]
Echo just because most of the non elite skills of the mesmer rock and are great for using multiple times.
Visions is a bit to limited but very powerfull.
And As of late i found out that [skill]panic[/skill] and [skill]auspicious incantation[/skill] make a good combo

Karomi, you hit it just right. Combine Ineptitude with Clumsiness, add Illusion of Pain (lengthened by Mantra of Persistance to 18 sec. Be sure to recast before big heal at end) These 3 skills will kill anything with one application each if foe has no hex removal. Just apply Imagined burden, interrupt any heals, wait for foe to die.
Migraine combined with Arcane Conundrum makes just about any spell easy to interrupt.
Illusionary Weaponry combines with ranger attack speed buff Heckets Rampage, and at 12 Beast Mastery allows you to bring a pet to tank for you...I have a Black Moa, coolest looking pet in game,IMO. As you say, just plain fun- a mesmer with a sword and a pet- but also effective for casual PvE play.

Combining them doesnt do much because they dont fully stack. Unless you're fighting Holy Haste or something
