Need Suggestions on Mesmer Farming (did he say Mesmer farming?)
Yah I know but my Mesmer is my most realized char (weapons, skills and armor).
I like my pve and pvp builds but I've never created a farming build. Oh and it would be best if the locations were in Proph and GWEN. I don't have much of Factions and Elona on this char.
Of course if there is a really good place to farm with a Mes in NF or Factions, I'd make the effort to reach it. An HM solo build would be best but if I have to take heroes that's ok too.
Lastly, I already know about Sabaway triple Necro. Was looking for something new here. Thanks all.
You don't need viper's defense... take channeling instead, and you get Cry of Pain early in nightfall, it's title based, but it's good at r7 or even r6 and you get that easily from playing a little bit of nightfall, oh.. and here's a vid of the farm (I did not make it):
I converted the Wiki page into an easy to reference PDF. I'll toy around with this. I'll have to cap Shadow Form (no biggie there). So long as this can still run well on a Me/A.
I HM Raptor farm with my mesmer, you will die now and then but since you're like me and have your mesmer as your main I figured you'd appreciate this.
[build prof=Me/E name="HM Raptors" IllusionMagic=12+1+3 FastCasting=9+1 InspirationMagic=9+1][Mantra of Resolve][Channeling][Signet of Illusions][Stoneflesh Aura][Armor of Earth][Mental Block][Grasping Earth][Sliver Armor][/build]
Obviously keep Signet of Illusions up before you cast anything Earth Magic, but it can even kill Rekoff Broodmother to help get your Asuran up plus a million golds and assassin tomes.

Ok so what do you cast pre-aggro? I dorked around with some 4 man (me + 3 heroes) builds this AM but the raptors pawned me. I could handle the Angaroons (sp?) but the raptors kept interrupting everything. Admittedly, I didn't use the the 3 necro Sabaway. I used a "balanced hero team" set I got in another thread that was complete crap. I died like a summit getting hit with spectral agony. The poster claimed it was "excellent" for HM clearing but I have better working anti-dino builds and I'm terrible at farming builds (which is why I come here). There was a lot of criticism of the suggestions but I still thought I'd try the builds. Shoulda listened to the critics.
Anyway, I figure if I can find a build that keeps me standing even a little while solo then adding the 3 necs will just make vanquishing methodic. I'll have to see if I have ele as a secondary on my Mes. I have an earth ell with just about every skill and several nice earth greens but she does not have Gadd's Encampment yet (I don't think).
I'm at work now so I'll be psyched to go home and try some of this.

Oh and I forgot to ask what runes and weapons you are using? Here at work I honestly can't remember what I have on my armor. I know my Mes' health is 535 but that is because she has a Deldrimor Dom staff with +60 hp.
Alright, a teaching post might take a while. Sorry in advance. Also I've got that staff too but I rarely use it (to be explained later), it looks sweet.
For the raptor farming, I should probably say that this is a solo farm. Just you. I did go out and buy me some armor specifically for it. I have max armor (obviously) with:
Head: Radiant Illusion headpiece of Superior Illusion
Chest: Stalwart * of Major Vigor
Gloves: Stalwart * of Minor Inspiration
Legs: Stalwart * of Minor Fast Casting
Feet: Radiant * of Minor Domination
To be fair, I use the head and feet of my normal Asuran armor along with new ugly Boreal Station pieces in the middle; all 5 stalwarts would be ideal. Yes I'm an illusion mesmer, nobody else can seem to handle it.
Weapon wise you want a +5e 20% enchanting weapon (Totem Axe FTW) along with the Bison Cup, or if you want a slight energy hit for a recharge hope you can try a 20/20 earth offhand. Also display your Asuran title.
Now. As soon as you enter run and get the bounty from the res shrine, then run down to the cave ignoring the Raptors and Angorodons. They will kill you. At the entrance, cast your first six skills in order, then recast SoI, then run into the cave heading as east as you can, aggroing EVERY single Raptor Nestling in the cave, then eventually circling back to Broodmother. Keep up your stance/enchantments along with SoI because if you lose ONE you will die. That is priority 1 at all times. Mental Block should really be keeping itself active, you should never have to recast that once you do.
Then, once you have the Broodmother up on you (you'll know because you'll suddenly lose half your health and be bleeding), with SoI active cast Grasping Earth and then Sliver Armor as fast as you can. 9 times out of 10 you'll auto aim for Broodmother and kill her; once she's down your only threat is gone; however if you don't instantly kill her you will die from a second Twisting Jaws. If you got her, continue to maintain (priority 1) and then attack (priority 2) until there's 3-4 nestlings left, Sliver Armor just can't take those last guys down. Pick up your junk, resign, rezone.
I know the above was confusing as all hell so if you're on roughly 9-10 EST tonight send me a PM and I'll show you how I do it. Good luck!
Edit: Just remembered, SoI can only be captured in the Realm of Torment, so hopefully you've got it on your ranger and can use an Elite Mesmer Tome? Or the Elonian Skill Pack and an Elite Mesmer Tome?

mesmer can use the common 55,terra tank, and SF, but only "true" mesmer farming build that i know of is
signet of midnight
epidemic
spirit of failure
ether feast
physical resistance (opt)
cry of pain (opt)
wandering eye and clumsiness (opt)
and a long list of other skill that could be used in a midnight farmer
zelgadissan - I am usually on between 8 - 11 EST. Mesmer is Ashanya Tovolnaya. Your method was very exciting to read. I would have to ask if you are a full keyboard player? See I'm a mouse/keyboard player which I know limits skill activation speed. "then run down to the cave ignoring the Raptors and Angorodons. They will kill you." was rather hilarious btw.
Oh and my mesmer has virtually none of NF so I'd have to play through a lot to cap SoI. I could buy an Elite Mes tome but I'm broke (hence my efforts to try and farm). I have some days off coming up, so I may just pull a marathon session and try to get to a point (in NF) where I can cap and try this out.
Weretoad - have you used that "true"/pure mes farming build? If so where? I do know you can Google "mesmer farming tour" and get all the Mes farming builds for each explorable in the Crystal Desert.
I would try that but I'd rather be grinding Asuran points while I'm farming/vanquishing. I'll just keep referring back to this thread as I work something out that works for me.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

back when minatour were good signet of midnight worked there. it farms most melee groups if you adjust it accordingly. when i do farm with it (which is rare, because my 55 monk is just better) i farmed skales in hm istan, and uw
Mesmers are very versatile farmers. Most people just don't realize it because very few people play PvE mesmers. My farming builds have come from imitating 55 monk builds, elementalist farmer builds, and permashadow builds. I suggest studying those on PvX and developing your own variants.
Mesmers can now easily go perma SF , I use it now for the chaos plains farm , but i prefer killing bosses
the uw build : [build=chaos plains;OQdUAsx6jPT8ILB6MwA2gsgmANQA] this one has one superior fast casting plus headgear and a minor insp rune.
the boss build; [build=boss killer;OQdVAOxOKf8XhHXCd2EgBhQDkBA] this one has sup+headgear domintaion and a minor fast casting and insp rune.Of course +20% ench weapon and a offhand that doesn't have "halves skills recharge of spells"
55-ing with a mes is possible , but slow.
My favorite build is the midnight farmer ,i farmed the hulking stone elementals outside sardelac , best farming times ever
[build=stone farmer;OQRDAqwDSOB6A3gaA2gJBQBoAA]

An advice to time SF correctly : start casting it once the first Shadow hit 50% (15 sec), you have 5 sec to cast it.

[build=stone farmer;OQRDAqwDSOB6A3gaA2gJBQBoAA] Those good old stone elemental, not so profitable but nice.
I'd switch ETap for Spirit of faillure and maybe Cry of Pain for Price of faillure.
If Physical resistance is not availlable, Distortion works better if you invest in some Sup runes
Coments in the quote
It is also possible to immitate a 600/smite team
[build=600 tank;OQNDAawDOCVtY94uqPiABBAC]
Major Illusion rune and Illusion headpeice.
For the smiter : maintain 4 enchants you need + rebirth + Spell Breaker + a signet (heal or condition/hex remover)
The reason for the signet is to make him come in casting range (by using it on you) so you can use arcane mimicry to copy SBreaker.

Haven't checked this thread in a while. Since posting it, I have switched to using my Mes for pvp (which is a blast) and using my monk with [shield of judgment] for farming. I'm not very good at farming. I tried using ele and dervish farming builds but got spanked. My monk is the only one that lasts at all in HM.
I love my Mesmer though so I think for sh#$ and giggles I'm going to try a bunch of the suggestions here. I don't have [signet of midnight] and enjoy capping so that will give me something to do as well.
