DoA Ursan
I hate ursan with a passion but now that few use it and it requires some creativity to get round it I tried it in DoA
I have tried this and it worked fairly well, it was a PuG, took a while to form and many were not maxed norn or Lightbringer.
It is similar to the ursan nm runs before (yes I did 2 fullruns), however the builds are five ursans....these must be assasins or mesmers with about 10 in deadly arts. A typical mes build is shown below (some skills can be swapped ie for pain inverter etc) this is just to show what I ran first time
[mes ursan;OQdUAWhOCvSGlRAiOBBaAmO2gxkA]
[mes ursan;OQdUAWhOCvSGlRAiOBBaAmO2gxkA]
[mes ursan;OQdUAWhOCvSGlRAiOBBaAmO2gxkA]
[mes ursan;OQdUAWhOCvSGlRAiOBBaAmO2gxkA]
[mes ursan;OQdUAWhOCvSGlRAiOBBaAmO2gxkA]
In replacement of a mes you can use a sin with a fast spike, but mes/sin or sin/mes is required as the vital skills Arcane mimicry is mesmer and you really need 10 or so in deadly to make sure you get the AP off.
Then you have your 2 standard HB monks
The 3rd monk is specialized to carry AP as its elite and serves more of a support, after some thinking my friend and I came up with;
[Monk AP;OwcT8U46VamgVseIHMgYBKmUmAA]
The build works similar to Ursan runs before but, when it runs out, mimicry AP off the specialized monk, and use it and skills to pick off a target, thus recharging ursan and go again.
As i said before I tried this with a party, it worked to a similar standard to before the nerf, with about an average of 5 sec ursan downtime.
When playing it is helpful to exit Ursan at the last enemy and recharge it to before engaging the next group. Some coordination is required, on our run we typically had 3 with ursan available.
The 3rd monk is not compromised that much either as the AP can recharge seed of life and the buffs can be applied to protect the monks (more armor etc). The monk carries finish to help his promise and some dmg.
On the attempt i tried, took ages to get a party as there are not many mes in DoA with R10 norn and R7-8 LB, so we ended up with a couple of R5 norn and R3-4 LB. We used drugs/consumables and started in the city, where we completed with 5 mins to spare on the drugs, we proceeded to do the undead area, where we had to stop as the 2 HB monks disconnected (it was very laggy) we killed a couple more groups after the HB's dc with only the promise monk, but at that time the bar was different and he had no self heal. He was picked off But it gave a good indication it could work well considering
1. most of us non maxed Ranks
2. me explaining it (not great at that esp to a new mes/sin every 10 mins we could get one)
3. not refined skill bars
4. no coordination, ie using vent/TS etc
5. no practice
6. With practice and fast inter ursan play, the dmg can be sustained as if in ursan, with CoP doing big AoE dmg etc.
7. Further skillbar refinements etc
I don't know enough mesmers out there to get a properly formed team, that is why I posted it up on here...there is also the ranger type build using oath shot but this means the monk is less useful as its carrying a 50% useless skill.

I didn't realize it had been posted before but with very few people doing DoA and having tried this with pretty good success, I thought I would post to see if anyone was interested

NM DoA is hardly worth doing any more even a full run. Although I agree this build maybe viable option for pugs who need DoA for HoM, and can't go with a guild/alliance teams. It is clearly inferior to the rest of the NM builds floating around in terms of effeciency, and simply not viable for HM runs.

Don't worry let them get their +1 rant posts off, it's guru in the end.
I playing around with some new builds there but would enjoy a oldschool Ursan run now and then.
Will see if I find time to max out more titles on my mes.
Pm'd you my ign.

Ursan's no longer an 'I Win' button (Though it's still somewhat usable).
Personally, i'd like to see a build involving [Raven blessing] or [Volfen blessing], since they're no longer in Ursan's shadow...
