I say nightfall for the hero reason and you can fly through the other chapters. Proph has some great skills but it takes awhile to get through especially as a mes. Enjoy yourself. The Mesmer is a really fun class. It is the only class I have two characters that I actually play both one male and one female. Hope you have lots of gold for armour. You have to look good while kicking azz

I'd definitely pick prophecies...NF ones are pretty ugly(trust me I checked...) slow leveling BAH. Get to LA and unlock EOTN from there...then use those heros and get to Elona. Same difference except you spend time in a prettier environment(although NF isnt bad either) and play with a much better looking character.

I personally picked Proph for my Mesmer since NF had only one look I liked and I already used that one on my Ele

Faction Mesmers are (imho) not that pretty ...
The attribute quest in Proph really is a pain. And the campaign is incredibly slow paced. However, if you have already played through it with another character then just paying somebody to rush you through (it's cheap!) is easier there then anywhere else (well, to be able to rush through you don't need to have played the campaign with another character before ... but if you rush your first char then you'd miss out on the story and all the free skills which is a bad idea).

started on NF, because I played proph b4 and because of the heroes.
as soon as i could i jumped to EOTN, picked ogden and vekk and then to LA to take olias, took a run to crystal desert and i'm about to ascend today.
