Fast Casting Question
What do you guys think the best attribute level for fast casting should be? For example in rits the best all around attribute level would be 10 in restoration. For me I follow the 12+1+1, 10 +1 and 8 configuration for my attributes. Is having fast casting at 11 too high or should i keep it at 9? I know some of you may point me to wiki but after reading it, it seems like there maybe only a slight difference between the two.

I have it at 12, and yes, there is a difference between them. In fact, it decreases much faster as you pump up the rank. Fast Casting, even 1 point away from someone, can make tons of difference even if it looks to be quite subtle.

Fast casting provides diminishing returns; the more you put in it, the less benefit you gain out of each rank of Fast Casting.
Having Fast-Casting around 8 is probably quite normal, but I'd really consider my options before raising it above that. There are usually better uses of Attribute Points.
Stop and ask yourself the question "Do I need to be able to cast spells and signets faster?" - If you're using skills like Backfire, Diversion, Energy Tap, basically skills with long cast times, then it becomes more worthwhile, but faster casting in PvE has far less benefits than PvP.

in pve it really isnt that use full cause your not likely to use long cast time spells, so keep it at 8 use the attributes to bump up your most used attribute.

Unless your build revolves around [arcane languor] or [Mantra of Recovery] [signet of illusion] it is not worth having a high attribute. Ok you got that cool REQ 13 fast casting skin go ahead and try it out, but it rely would be a waste below is the diminishing return chart from wiki.

if you're using lots of PvE skills with decent spammability, then go for 10+ FC,otherwise, have 40/40 set for Domination or w/e u're using and u can stay at 7-9 pts on FC without downsides, cuz since u gonna spam spells u'd need pts on inspiration anyway.

I usually run:
Illusion or Domination 12+1+3
Inspiration 10+1
Fast Casting 8+1
Gives +4 pips for [[Lyssa's Aura] or generally good energy management with other inspi skills.

If your build is based on signets, then fast casting is your enemy.
Other than that. It is your best friend.
No Superior runes plz.

Fast Casting works on signets.
Superior runes are pure win in PvE. Never leave a town without them.
In PvP things are different of cause.

If i was to post a skill like [backfire] and want to see the casting time labled in the description, how would i format that? I know that you can put the attribute line in it just by attaching @9 =[[email protected]] but id like to see the adjusted time for fast casting bonus.
