Alot of the other mesmer builds out there are great for single target damage, which usually is a great thing to have, but looking at the fragility nuker purely objectively, if you want a build that can do aoe damage, this is one of the strongest nuking builds in the game. 500 armor ignoring aoe damage nuke every 15 seconds, if you don't like the build then you simply just don't like nuking, there really aren't many nuking build that can compare to this one. Also, this build works with any team configuration, you do not need to coordinate with other team members to make fragility effective in this build, the idea is that you can inflict 4 conditions on your own, 3 of which last only 3 seconds, hence taking advantage of fragilities end condition result. Hex and condition removal is hardly a problem with this build, it spreads so many hexes and conditions so quickly with fast casting, that even if something is removed chances are its not going to augment you that much. If the original deepwound is removed before you use virulence then yes, its gonna mess your nuke up, but that rarely happens, and all builds are gonna be countered at some point. Also, this build is great for HM, where armor ignoring damage is pretty much a must, which is why mesmers are a great class for nuking in HM. If you are doing NM then use ele's for nuking, although this build is still very effective in NM.

The build means you need to set up heroes to run extra conditions for full effectiveness.

Like I said before, the build is allot of effort for what is essentially mediocre AOE. Fast cast + fire spells are faster.

Well, I'm new to these forums, but the reason I came here was to find some builds for my heroes as well as my mesmer.

I read the thread and I looked at the build. It looked like a fun build so I tried it out. Not only in PvE, but in PvP as well.

I did HoS, DD and the final EotN mission with this build. I put energy tap in the last slot and I'm glad I did. Without it, I wouldn't have enough energy management.

What I found was that in PvE, the effectiveness of this build really depends on how well you can mob together the enemies. I managed to take out about 5 destroyers with this build in about 6 seconds. They had only a little health left after the cycle, but the rest of the party could take them out quick enough.

Against bosses this build works ok'ish. The quicker removal of conditions and hexes makes fragility more effective, but the damage over time by the health degen is slightly less.

With a discordway team this build works too well. The enemy will be dead before the cycle ends (before epidemic at least) unless you're in hard mode of course. In hard mode this works pretty well.

In PvP this build is ok. I only tested it in RA. It definitely does more damage than my domination build with VoR. Hex removal and being a primary target make it tough to run more than 1 1/2 cycle.

Overall I like this build a lot. There are a few minor issues that I don't like.
- Unless you have perfect cycles, you can't do more than 2 cycles without waiting for re-gen of energy.
- DW is a pretty common condition. Perhaps shrinking armor is a better option (also has 1 more health degen)
- You have no interupts and you can't really disable enemies
- It's not challenging to use

This is just what I find of this build, and I'm sure there are better builds out there. I'm willing to check those out as well. I'm not optimally geared either, so that could affect how this build runs for me. Still, I think this is a decent build and a good build for people who like to sit and relax, while the damage numbers float up. Low management high damage if used right at least.

Thanks for the posts. When I created this build and posted it on guru, it was specifically to serve as a nuker, i.e. a build that souly functions to pump out big aoe damage on balled up mobs. There are a ton of other builds that work great for all around purposes, but really this build is for groups that specifically ball up monsters for nukers to make quick work of them. Mesmers are great for aoe damage, and if anything, this build should help show ppl that fragility has huge potential, sure it requires coordinated team work to maximize on its damage, but even a build like the one I posted can produce 500 aoe armor ignoring damage completely by itself. I've been messing around with some team configurations utilizing fragility and fevered dreams, and there are already standard team configurations you can find on pvxwiki which utilize fragility, when it comes down to it, fragility owns.
