Hi, want to try to use discord team with my mesmer char, but don't know where to start to build a good AP caller.

Arcane Echo is nice to use on EVAS.
Finish Him is a strong spike skill.
Arcane Conundrum is a good energy management skill.
Illusion of Pain does decent single target damage and helps ensure the target dies.
Auspicious Incantation helps fuel the expensive Arcane Echo.

Imo:
Echo for double evas
Pve skill chosen among Tecnobabble-FH!-PI-CoP (or whatever you feel useful)
A insp skill to keep up ene when AP miss (drain ench/delusions, WNWN, PDrain, etc)
Those 3 should be a standard.
Then:
-Illu oriented: Wandering eye, frag/arcane conudrum/clusminess...
-Dom oriented: mistrust, unnatural sig, overload, cry of frustration, spiritual pain....

Or pretty much u want from those 2 lines.
Enduring toxin from deadly arts is a good cover hex too, w/o too much attribute spreading.

Strongly suggest "Finish Him" for triggering AP.
Pick a 3rd PvE skill from CoP, YMLAD, Technobabble.

Damage options include Illusion of Pain (reliable single-target damage), Frag (helps Finish Him to spike, triggers again if cracked and deep wound get removed), and your usual Illusion stuff (Wandering Eye, etc,) or usual Dom stuff (Unnatural Sig, etc.).

E-management is a lot more open than most mesmer builds. AP lets you bypass the awful recharges that make a lot of stuff non-options for most builds. For example, Ethereal Burden is viable.

@Andrew: I wouldn't build around missing AP; I'd build to make sure I don't. Monks are the only class where it makes sense to build around missing AP.

Depending on the area I like to take Pain Inverter and usually some spammable low energy skills. I also like Finish Him for monk/heal heavy areas. To spike the Healers with EVAS and Finish Him helps a lot especially in the old ascalon area with the annoying grawl.

AP
YMLAD
Evas
Chaos Storm
Unnatural Signet
Cry of frustation
Spiritual pain (amazing in areas with spirits/minions)
Pain Inverter

Agree, but it prefer to use a skill slot for additional ene rather than sit and wait for AP recharge if it miss. Call it "stay safe", but isn't really so rare.

Well you're going to want an extra energy management skill anyway; Assassin's Promise really isn't enough on it's own.

I usually use AI or Ether sig, one lets you front load, the other has zero initial layout cost (just gotta be careful you dont waste it by having too much energy..) and as Xeno said, AP alone wont cut it for the abuse your blue bar will take with all the skills you need to power, over, and over, and over :P

The best option is to load up on high damaging, high recharge PvE skills + AE. Then use AI on them for energy management.

AI+AE+EVAS+your Echoed EVAS
FH+Epidemic
AP+FH - if target is already half life

Fragility+AI+AE+CoP+your Echoed CoP - for extra AoE goodness

...and many more combinations. Very flexible.

I actually prefer a heavier Dom spec to take chaos storm over epidemic..ocassionally shatter delusions too... but either way works...

but Cstorm tho!!! Its purples, and swirly, and pretty, and blows stuff up! xD

I prefer Domination, since Mistrust and Unnaturel signet are lots of AoE damage, that recharge fast because of AP. To maintain energy I prefer Drain Enchantment, usefull for u because of energy, and U can get rid of annoying enemy enchantments. Chaos Storm is nice too. Finish him to make sure enemy dies.

Haven't tried it out myself yet, I use Esurge to spike down mobs which works perfectly combined with WW and Mistrust and Unnatural signet. Gotta give this one a try once.
