Strongest against physical, but very damaging on casters too. Can easily manage energy with smart usage of AC and DD. I usually run a Panic hero with this for full shutdown.

Keystone Signet with 7 merc heroes also running keystone signet for most areas, save a few with signet shutdown. NM of course, haven't try it in HM yet, probably substitute two of them with SoS and ST rits should work for most area. I'll try it and report back. It's so much fun when enemy mob together, single target spike isn't bad either, doesn't even need to target healer.

I'm running a modified Keystone. I found I did not need essence of celerity or symbolic posture...
Keystone
sig of clumsy
unnatural sig
sig of disruption
sig of corruption
ether nightmare (big area degen)
YMLAD
chaos storm or mistrust (alternate)
Work's like a dream. mobs just twitch twitch twitch and die
I like having to never worry about energy.
I was running a panic build before, but this is more fun than I thought it would be.

A build i'm testing with nice results atm (idea suggested by a doascer friend) is:
Eco (elite)
Wandering Eye
Mistrust
Unnatural Sig.
Cry of Pain
Air of Superiority
Calculated Risk
Power Drain
Testing and still switching skills (P Leak + Aneurism over P Drain and C Risk, or Drain delusions for P Drain, slapping in Tecnobabble for Risk....u get the point, minor things anyway) but core idea is: when u have too many casters, double mistrust. Too many physical, double WE.
Need plain dmg, double Unnatural.
Atm i have 9 FC, 8 Dom , 10 Ill and 9 Insp (10FC, 11 Dom, 11 Illu, 10 Insp with proper runes).

Looks interesting, but I do wonder if P-drain and AoS alone are enough too fuel the numerous 10e spells in there?

Well, as i said the nice thing of this build is that is open to tons of tweaking.
Just keep Eco + Mistrust/WE and Aos, other 4 skills are up to you and zone/needs. The fact is that there are so many OP skills in Mes pool even among reg ones, so having a elite able to consistently double those is cool.
(Personally i always have a Bip hero, so if things goes wrong there's a backup, but generally works fine w/o it - unless you get caught by e-denial or eco the wrong thing, but that's not fault of the build itself.)

I love Echo! I ran a similar build but used Signet of Clumsiness and Drain Delusions instead of AoS and PD. After the Mesmer update, I tried out other elites, but Echo is still one of my top favorites!

Never understood why spend an elite slot with Echo when Arcane Echo does the same thing(?).

I always preferred Glyph of Renewal. Echo "locks you in" to using a particular skill for its entire duration, whereas GoR allows you to make that decision with more frequency.

Arcane Echo takes 15 energy while Echo uses 5 energy.
Arcane Echo can only be used with spells while Echo can be used with any skills.
Arcane Echo has 20 sec recharge while Echo has 10 sec.
Arcane Echo enchantment lasts 20 sec while Echo enchantment last 30 sec.
Arcane Echo takes 2 sec (with no FC) to cast while Echo takes 1 sec (no FC) to cast.
The only times that I would use Arcane Echo over Echo is if I'm gonna bring other elites like E-Surge or Ineptitude, which are also great skills.

Wow....competely forgot i started this thread....might as well throw out my latest general pve build
-GoLE
-Empathy
-Backfire
-Pain Inverter
-Cry of Pain
-Energy Surge
-Leech Sig(optional, some type of emng)
-Ebon Vanguard Standard of Honor
Domination-12+1+(1-3)
Fast Casting-11+1
Inspiration-Rest(get 10e return from sig usually)
Pretty simple, more single target shutdown. Stack Empathy/Backfire+PI on targets, abuse the recharge from EVSoH and a 40/40 set, spam CoP and Esurge on recharge for a bit of AoE dmg
