This however, is not true. It only interrupts when they are attacking, it costs 5 more mana, and does the same damage. Not to mention that it actually has to hit, and you have to have a line of sight.
This is the build I use, and it almost always performs perfectly.
Air Magic 16
Energy Storage 13-16 (Whatever)
Superior Rune of Vigor
Gale
Lightning Strike
Enervating Charge
Lightning Orb
Chain Lightning
Elemental Attunement {E}
Resurrection Signet
Open Slot
For the open slot, I'm trying different things like Iron Mist for slow, or Antidote signet for Poison. Whatever you need really. Hope this helps.

Lightning Strike is really not all that strong. Conjure lightning is a must as well for anyone using surge and is good even with ele attunement.

??? ??? Lightning Strike deals good dmg for only 5 energy, recycles in 5 seconds or so, and has 25% armor pen....
Why would carrying Lightning Surge create a need for Conjure Lightning? Are you sure you're talking about the right skills?
