I have read a bunch about the awesomeness that is the Fire build.
I was wondering if Air was also as good during solo PVE?

To be honest there probably isn't a worse solo build. Soloing relies on being able to hit the whole group of monsters why air centers around single target damage. If you really dislike fire you *might* be successful with water.

Oh no..I don't dislike fire, I really thought lightning or Water or earth woudl be soemthing a bit different...
Thank you for the heads up.
One thing "*might*" is that a hint that its a really good PVE Ele or really just means that its only a tiny bit better than Air?

He's just saying that Water has some area spells also, so with the right build/spells a Hydromancer might be effective in PvE.
No, I don't have a build in mind.

I switched to air from fire for the main purpose of PvE. I tend to run Fissure more often than any other area and it really holds up for me. The major downside to fire is that, in higher level areas, mobs tend to run out of your AoE zone... especially melee fighters.
I worked a half and half Fire/Air ele for a while and that worked well enough until I noticed I wasn't hitting hard enough. Then I switched over to air and do much better. (For PUGs, I tend to get invites often enough, and if there's another ele on the team, chances are, they're fire anyway. So it's a good combo.)
TBH, I've never been able to run an area solo... probably 'cuz I suck. (Yeah, I can go back to Old Ascalon, but what's the point?)
If anyone has a solo-worthy build for E/Mo that'll hold up in the Desert or beyond, please PM me. I'd love to try something different.

I think its good to use Fire and Air from crystal desert onwards, the armour penetration helps quite well against high AL mobs. Hydromancing is good too and Earth.

Well, thanks. That narrows down my options.
Really, though, I know there are threads on here with all kinds of "suggestions" for "what could be" a great solo build, but I'd like to know if someone has had real success with a particular ele build for soloing.

I run an earth build for soloing myself. I farm the elona reach mission minotaurs without enchant removal its pretty easy. Armor of earth is key along with ether renewal as my main heal but im E/R I'm sure you could fine something better being part monk. Air isn't that bad for soloing but for farming it just doesnt work out well. You could clear an area but it would be quite slow. Chain only hits 3 people so it would take a while.

Might implies you may or may not be sucessfull with the scales to may not
I also completely forgot about the earth line You would probably have similar results with it as fire.
