Default ne really good farming spots for eles?

From the ones i have seen so far i get piled, so i stuck with the gates of kryta area since i own it, but it doesnt make enough money in the long run to buy some stuff i want

Should i just make a trapper ranger or a warrior\mo? or is there a good farming spot for ele/mo, any somewhat good place seems to own me not that i stink at ele really, i just think i am either farming it wrong, or simply in the wrong place

Talking Good farming for eles

Go with a straight Ele build for fire magic and energy storage, no monk spells needed. Equip Aura of Restoration for heal, Fire Attunment to regain energy, cast both just before attacking. I have Glyph of Lesser Energy then Rodgorts Invocation, Fireball, Phoenix, and Meteor, not necessarily in this order, and Lava Font for discouraging close up attacks. I farm solo out of Beteltun toward Bergan and get good drops most of the time. Keep it to once in a 24 hour period and you will get at least one superior rune, although not always valuable ones. You should be able to use this build solo most anywhere but the southern Shiverpeaks.

Or you could always go with the basic earth ele build and go rape any melee enemies....

Armor of Earth
Kinetic Armor
Obsidian Flesh {E} if there are any casters that you're worried about stripping enchants or such.
Aftershock or Crystal Wave (or both if you'd like)
Earth Attunement
Mending if you'd prefer since you're monk secondary

and then you can just have whatever combo, but the first 2 armors are the most important to pump up your armor so you don't get overrun. Aura of Restoration comes in handy too, and you can use either Reserval of Fortune to keep up Kinetic Armor or Stone Daggers.

Ele farming builds are, I suspect, a little slower than those of other classes because it takes longer to recharge energy, longer to move around, etc. (at least in some cases).

Still, I've solo farmed ettins and hydras and ice imps and Mangho Hydras/Flesh Golems and minotaurs and so on, so it's eminently doable.

And then there was the time I was farming seeds in the desert, and a guy who couldn't figure out how to do it offered me 1000 per seed. And for the last one he traded me a 19% enchantment mod, volunteering that he knew it was worth a lot but wanted to make the trade anyway.

By the way, all of the above are with Fire/Earth, Earth, or occasionally pure Fire builds. I've never stuck with Mist Form long enough to make it work.

Basically, an Ele can solo farm anything where enchantment stripping isn't a huge problem. And with Obsidian Flesh you can even occasionally go into a mesmer-heavy zone where other casters have trouble.

Couldn't you just run a pure fire build, run out of Heroes' Ascent, kill that stupid thing right outside there and repeat to farm seeds? Seems like a pretty simple way of doing it, albeit a bit slow... its definitely guaranteed

Edit: Gah, not Heroes' Ascent... the place just South-West of Augury... my brain is locking up on me at the moment

Edit 2: Just checked on Guildwiki... Heroes' Audience. I knew it was Heroes'

The one to the left that is usually being attacked by Sand Elementals?

Why don't you try it?

Meh, almost everytime i leave HA to go Sand Elemental farming on my 55 Necro the stupid thing gets in my way and pisses me off... it drains my energy too much trying to kill it, so I end up wanding it half to death and letting SS counter its orison. Its not quite fun, but I imagine with a pure fire build it shouldn't be too bad. You just have to get there before the Sand Ele's do... and as of now I have no Ele T_T I'm making one this weekend I believe...

The real problem is that is that it likes to do the worm thing and hide underground.

My breakthrough was finding a Salving Cactus that could be reliably killed in a way that DIDN'T cause it to tunnel under the sand. (Wand once for good luck, drop Meteor Shower, and do a little more damage in the manner of your choice while the meteors are falling.) I don't know if a modification would work on the Cactus you're talking about; IIRC the precise sequence I gave does not inspire it to stick around.

I'd try just flaring/fireballing it to death

Once I get my Ele up to there I'll work on it. I've successfully killed it a few times on my necro, but it takes forever cuz I only have SS to kill it... so I spend 15 energy every 20 seconds or so, along with keeping prot up... not fun. Especially when the little bastard keeps using orison on himself.

If you practice enough with an E/Me you can Ettin farm outside of Beetletun.

lol ettin farm outside beetletun/bergen for runes using straight fire. aggro cast meteor shower phenix and fireball and you will be surrounded by many crispy fried ettins by the time the last meteor lands

hydra farming is easy with a geotank build.

if you're really really bored you can go farm the charrs around piken square for their charr hides using straight fire again.. or if you want to make it slightly more challenging just take flare

basically decide where you want to farm look at what you will be facing and come up with a build to do it and keep practising

For Ettins, i use a E/Me water build:

Armor of Mist
Water Attunement
Energy Storage
Mist Form {E}
Rust
Channeling
Ice Spear
Frozen Burst

For Trolls/Minos/Griffons i use a E/R build:

Armor of Mist
Fire Attunement
Serpent's Quickness
Mist Form {E}
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Trolls Unguent (or anything else for that matter)
Flame Burst
Frozen Burst

They are not light speed builds but they do their job well.

Did you mean Aura of Restoration?

I gather that's enough self-healing to make up for the downtime of Mist Form?

I'll have to try a Mist Form build. My biggest problem isn't the ettins; it's being too slow to get my enchantments up after killing a Caromi Tengu Wild, and actually dying from Conjure Phantasm/ranger attacks.

Well, Permanent Obsidiant Flesh would probably work, but that's overkill.

Default Enchantment broken worry's.

If your worried about your enchantment being broken just make sure the last one you cast is one you can live without. (A low cost one.) When a encantment is stripped, it is the last one you cast that is lost, make it a crappy one.
The Comari Wild will always try to strip you.

Not a bad plan against a single stripper who doesn't use Rend Enchantments (and few do). Harder against a mob of several strippers.

Kinetic Armor is almost always the one on top, btw. At least, it moves to the top when renewed, which is often.

The usual term for the less valuable enchantment is "cover enchantment".

For ettins i use this build...uber gast and you can stone dagger the dang Wild to death pretty quickly.

Balthazars Spirit
Ether Renewal
Aura of Restoration
Kinetic Armor
Rust
Crystal Wave
Aftershock
Stone Daggers

Basically the Rust gives the ettins a 6 sec cast time on their heling sig...thats when you stone dagger them, stond daggers does about 80 dmg for each cycle at this point and aftershock does about 189 dmg. BUT crystal wave removes rust so use that before you use rust! You should be able to farm the ettins super fast with this. As always us a -2DMG Shield and a 20% mod on a sword or axe.
