Default The Smart Nuker (E/N)

I’ll start by saying that I have almost deleted my Elementalist several times. Fact is, I didn’t like him much until I came up with this build. I guess this setup kind of reminds me of the Red/Black decks I used to play in Magic the Gathering. Well, here it is…

Fire Magic 14 (10 + 3 + 1)
Blood Magic 12
Energy Storage 9 (8 +1)

Skills:

Fireball
Life Siphon
Rodgort’s Invocation
Meteor Shower
Offering of Blood [Elite]
Well of Blood
Fire Attunement
Resurrection Signet

Weapon: Rago's Flame Staff (Kole's Torment or the 20/20 Collector's Fire Staff are cheaper alternatives)

Armor: The current Elementalist armors are all bad... get Tempest or Battlemage's armor when Factions comes out.

The first thing you will notice is that Fire Magic and Energy Storage are not as high as your straight-up nuker builds. Well, it seems like in the current environment the straight-up nuker is not as effective as the Spiteful Spirit Necro. So, conceding that up front made me look for something else to supplement my nuker.

The main point of this build is not to be a crazy max damage pyro but to be a smart pyro that can effectively manage energy and health. Naturally, I will always put up a Fire Attunement before battle. I will then cast one nuke, one Life Siphon and an Offering of Blood immediately following these first couple of spells. Thereafter, always hit Offering of Blood as soon as it recharges (in between nukes) and keep a couple of Life Siphons going or a nearby Well of Blood to regenerate health.

An important side note here may be of special attention to warriors also. As a nuker, you have to be careful using AoE spells that scatter the aggro the warrior is holding. Most good warriors understand their job is to hold melee attackers on them and prevent them from getting to the spellcasters. If you scatter them at the wrong time, their hard work to keep aggro off of you is all for nothing. This is why I do not use Firestorm, which does very little damage before enemies start to scatter. Fireball and Rodgort’s Invocation are great because they will not trigger this. Although Meteor Shower does scatter, it also knocks down enemies which often keeps them in the area.

Thanks for checking out the build!

Interesting build, but red/white has healing and direct damage. With white's global control magic such as wrath of god...err heal party; it can more benefit the team. While combating enamies with starstorm...err meteor shower you can take them out of commision. Besides running R/W err...E/Mo you get goods such as lightning helix and essence bond ^_~ , not to mention the classic fireball.

(if someone actually catches all the puns in this I better start runnin)
