Default Elementalist runner?

I'm fairly sure that an elementalist will never really be a match for a W/Mo or W/R in this area, but is it possible for an elementalist to do runs? By runs, I don't mean Piken Square. I mean like Droks and Sanctum Cay and Crystal Desert and the later, more advanced missions. If it's possible, I'm sure that a lot of elementalists could find a great new source of income.

If you have any ideas or builds, even theoretical ones, please post.

suprisingly yes, they can do runs. now, cuz o update, i have found drok run is quite difficult, actually, near impossible, but i did make it a few times before taht wit guildies. i didn't really have a "build" and i never really use them. for reference tho, i used water and air skills, wit a few points in wilderness survival (e/r) for troll ungent. a few skills taht i used were swirling aura, mist form, armor of mist, windborne speed, aura of restoration, troll ungent, and a few others i cant remember. it is quite interesting tho to beat a warrior runner when ur an ele, jus stay close behind and let em suck up dmg, then stick on armor and fly out in front .

If you can solo, you can "run", although "waddle" might be a better word given that some of the best solo elementalist builds rely on earth enchantments, and that these are fighting rather than running-away builds.

I haven't done any classic routes soloing, but I have meandered for long distances across the desert, and I soloed from Droks to Ice Caves after I finished off the trolls once.

Otherwise -- Mist Armor/Serpent's Quickness/Storm Chaser/Troll Unguent/Armor of Mist as the core of a theoretical build. Maybe Antidote Signet and Glyph of Concentration. And maybe Healing Spring for faster rest stops? Or Windborne Speed, of course.

Eles are runner with windborne speed (which is very nice)
But I don't believe they can make it too droks though.
Since windborne speed is an enchantment, the stone summit can easily break that and also, eles dont' ahve balanced stance unless they have warrior as a second class.

i have run TOA to Sanctum cay with my E/R i used :

Storm Chaser
Armor of Mist
Lightning reflexes
troll unguent.
Serpent's quickness
Dodge

I remember maxing out Water and Wildernes survival. Use armour of mist which gives you about 17 seconds at %33 speed (not bad! ) first cos of it's 2 seconds casting time then trol unguent. set these off just before u aggro a mob. then cast lightning reflexes stance to help evade hits. when armor of mist is about to run out and u need to keep running hit storm caser for another 15 or so seconds running.. if u need dodge will give u a 5 sec boost too

it's hard to run constantly with ele cos of the casting time of running and healing spells. the best way is to run past mobs till they stop chasing and repeat armour of mist and troll ungent each time.

I hate to bring up the infamous 55 build, but would that be a possibility here? If so, what kind of build could be used for it?

55s can't run for sure.. usually anything that requires time to activate while running isn't good for a runner.

Maybe you're right, but I would have thought that having a build you can use to solo the Underworld would easily be useful for running, even if it is not quick running, the type you are used to getting from a tank.

In that case u'll have to call it a Walker not a runner.Walker (as in Walker texas ranger A.K.A Chuck norris) is a cool name though cos norris is the worlds greatest bad ass!

Yes, yes. Chuck Norris would dropkick a wurm so hard it wouldn't come back above ground for 87 years, and all its friends would hide with it.

Unfortunately, there isn't a "Dropkick" skill. And if there were, it surely wouldn't be in the Elementalist line.

Lightbulb Ele/Me?

How about just echoing mist form? wouldn't that work - or possibly using glyph of renewal. It might take time though... not sure.
If you were able to keep it up all the way to like, droks or whatever.

Another thing is, if you used renewal, you could then have a ele/war and use the running skills or something.

I dunno...

EDIT: Woops, for some reason i said armour of mist, not mist form sry

Fire storm is extremely impractical for a run. It takes too long to cast, takes too much energy, takes too long to cast, and there's a good chance you'll be dead by the time it does cast. I understand your thinking that an AoE would make enemies run, but you'd probably want something like lava font rather than fire storm. However, even a spell like lava font is highly impractical for a run. I don't think you should depend too much on spells at all (interruption, knckdown, etc.) for a challenging run. I guess an elementalist would have to depend on spells (Use mantra of resolve?), but tanks don't and they typically make the best runners.

Fire storm is worst idea I've ever heard reasons^

Yes eles can run most of desert and ascalon runs maybe some jungle but other than that they are useless.

I can solo most of the desert with an Ether Renewal build, but Enchanted Bows are a huge problem (Concussion Shot) and Marrow Scarabs aren't a lot of fun either (Well of the Profane).
