Default PvE Support Elementalist

I'm curious what you guys think of my PvE support Elementalist, whose main point is to screw with the enemies as much as possible. Disrupting their normal attacking, and other actions. This comes from me looking through the skill sets here and on Wiki...so bare with me, lol.

Water Magic - 12 + 1 + 1 - 3
Energy Storage - 12 + 1 - 2

1. Elemental Attunement - Nice little energy management, I really like the idea of having elite energy management. Especially one as effective as this, 50% of the casting amount given back to me is quite nice, especially if i'm using some of these costly spells.

2. Blurred Vision - Really funny way to cut the damage our side is taking, by limiting the amount that the enemies beat sticks can effectively dish out.

3. Ice Prison - Interesting way to snare a single fleeing enemy, or to keep a squishy from being beaten by a big Ogrish animal.

4. Frozen Burst - Useful way to slow down adjacent enemies, allowing me to effectively kite.

5. Ice Spikes - Useful way to slow down a fleeing enemy mob, or deal alittle damage and help disrupt.

6. Ice Spear - Little damage dealer, maybe of use occasionally if i'm not really doing much else for the team.

7. Armor of Mist - If I need to kite, might aswell do it in style.

8. Resurection Signet - General res, may substitute for a hard res. As i'm not really using my secondary anyway.

Armor - 60 AL Tempest Armor, +10 AL When Enchanted
Weapon - 20 / 20 Cast / Recharge Water Staff - +10 Defense or +5 Defense and +20% Enchant

Maybe put in mael storm somewhere so you can interrupt enemy caster, after you snare them.

It's interesting.

I'd find a way to fit Deep Freeze in there somewhere, and maybe ditch Elemental Attunement for Ether Prodigy so you can drop say Armor of Mist and add in a nice Heal Party to spam when you're not doing anything else

So I'd probably go with a revised bar like this:

1. Ether Prodigy
2. Heal Party.
3. Deep Freeze
4. Blurred Vision
5. Ice Spikes
6. Ice Prison(or whatever else - maybe a Draw Conditions so your healers don't have to worry about them on anyone but you)
7. Ice Spear/Frozen Burst(or whatever else)
8. Ressurection Signet or a hard res, if you're going with Ether Prodigy, Rebirth might actualy work somewhat well with it due to the fact you'll be trying to stay at low energy, and you'll have massive regen.

I find that Heal Party spam can really help your healers in just about any kind of situation where a good amount of your team is taking damage. I'd say drop your energy storage a bit and maybe spec it in at 8, that should leave you with 11 or 10 left in storage.

@ Vermilion - I was thinking about this, though i'm alittle concerned about AoE scatter. Though its almost certainly something i'll try.

@ Zui - Interesting ideas for sure, I like the idea of being able to add alittle healing if needed. IMO it suits the "support" role nicely. Ether Prodigy, is something I had previously not considered, I intend to try this aswell. Seems viable under most circumstances. Especially if i'm at low energy often.

Thanks guys for the suggestions, opinions, and comments. I'm alittle concerned, atleast in the original build I specced, that I have too many slowing snares. I mean...that is one of the themes behind the build, but at a certain point I almost feel as though its redundant. Perhaps that the skill slot would be better utilized in other ways...I intend to come back tomorrow and tweak it some more. 5:30 AM is killin me here, lol.

Is Frozen Burst really necessary to help you kite if you have Armour of Mist too? I'd say drop 1 and bring Deep Freeze.

Ice Prison is good but there is a very high chance 1 of your teammates will do Fire damage. Rangers w/ Kindle/Ignite, Fire ele (duh), or a Warrior/Assassin with a Fiery weapon. I've always wondered how annoying it would be to be an Air Ele with Echo Iron Mist Sorta like Ice Prison on steroids...
