Isn't this discussion a little pointless? Ok warriors can do the highest dps, but the only thing said about elementalists, like in any guild wars booklet or whatever is that they can do higher damage in one strike then any other class, and this I agree with. You hit a fireball for max damage and that's like over 300 hps if you hit it on three targets, but obviously there are things which affect elementalist damage like armor, etc. Luckily the elementalist has other tools to use if they're in an area with mobs who have high armor. There, enough said. Warriors can do higher damage per second, because just their regular hits are faster and do more damage, whereas an elementalist needs time to cast spells. But elementalists can do more damage in one hit.

As far as the one on one arguement, well I think that's mute as well. Each class seems pretty balanced against each other. If the warriors brings a certain build, the elementalist can probably come up with a build to counter it, and vice versa.

Enervating Charge and Ward Against Melee would take quite a lot to maintain, if you were to keep it up constantly so as to make yourself "unkillable" - and, even with Weakness you do take some damage. You can't kill the war, and if you can't keep up the conditions forever, you'll die someday - even with the conditions applied indefinitely, the Warrior will kill you someday. Weakness only makes you hit softer, and 50% evasion isn't enough to last 10 minutes.
but still, aas long as the warr has no self heal(very common, cept heal sig, which doesnt help much) they will eventually die to.

Actually, the highest hit that would be recorded would be probably a Backbreaker on the back. Or an Eviscerate, counting the Deep Wound.

And this viewpoint is dependant on whether you're coming from a PvP perspective or PvE perspective. For example, you might be able to hit 12 monsters in PvE, but you'll rarely get more than two people in PvP. 'Cept in HA.

Your elementalist has no self heal either...I'm betting on you exhausting yourself of energy before you can kill the warrior.

any skill that causes deep wound is going to hit for more damage than a single elementalist skill.

And yes, joncoish, I did forget about Eviscerate, Crushing Blow, and Gash.
