Question Elementalist boss farming

Im curious as to whether there are any builds that elementalists can use to farm green items.
(sorry if this has been done previously)

Umm, yea, kinda has.

You want to look into the E/A build (also works as A/E)...using Shadow Form, an assassin elite, and Sliver Armor.

This Link takes you to the A/E Build, which is pretty much the same as the E/A one.

Question was also asked here, also in the Elementalist forum!

The build is given underneath the picture on the first page! But if you can't read that far I have detailed it below (what I use anyway)

1. Shadow Form {E}
2. Glyph of Elemental Power
3. Sliver Armor

That's about it. You can add other things such as:

Death's Charge / Dash / Dark Escape just to get to the bosses faster
ele damage skills (Shock + Aftershock or Stone Daggers) just as a little something to help SLiver armor along.

My attribute points are split so:
Shadow Arts: 12
Earth Magic: 12 + 1 + 2 (I could use a superior rune if I wanted...but I don't)
Energy Storage: rest

the trick is, that jus before aggroing, you put up shadow form, then only untargeted life steal, AoE or signets can damage you.
Now, Gather as much aggro as you can, stand close to the boss, put up the glyp and sliver armor.
Now sliver armor will target the boss(hopefully), and if you get targeted enough, sliver armor will kill him, bye bye boss, if he drops his green, pick it up, done

additionally, Killing a boss will recharge shadow form, so you can put it back up to grab his item. In fact, I may go farm the scar eater right now.

also, shadow of haste/dash is a lot of fun, because if you fail you can cancel soh and try again.

Now, I think the update has wiped this build and now made it almost useless for boss farming (CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG) as the boss will generally run away when approached at low health, so far this has happened to all of the bosses I've attempted:
Wiseroot Shatterstone
Darkroot (watever)
The Scar Eater
Etc...
Please reply for your views or to give examples of bosses which havnt been nerfed.

I'm correcting you. You're wrong.

Yesterday, I just showed a curious guy how to kill the Scar Eater and did it in one shot (after not doing it since the green event weekend). It's still obscenely easy.

EDIT: It sounds like you're not getting enough aggro. There are two groups of plant enemies outside of the Armory on the way to the Scar Eater, and *unless you get an Oni spawn* you need to pull them both. You can use Dark Escape, but you can't run at full speed or you'll lose aggro (they really dont chase much). Then you hold out until you're between 50%-25% health and use Shadow Form (careful you don't get interrupted). Then Death's Charge to the Scar Eater and the other enemies will run over quickly. If you knock the Scar Eater down with Gale, he wont be able to heal at ALL, or run away (which I've never seen him do, but apparently you have).

This is what I use:

Shadow Form
Death's Charge
Shadow Refuge
Dark Escape
Glyph of Elemental power
Sliver Armor
Glyph of Sacrifice
Meteor Shower (works surprisingly well to add damage and stop fleeing

Why is this done with an Assassin elite instead of, say, Mist Form?

At least in the case of physical-damage mobs ...

Shadow Form prevents targetted spells from being cast at you, so you don't have to worry about things getting shattered. If it's a purely melee based mob, which is increasingly rare, then feel free to use mist form. The purpose of the build was to have the ability to farm things previously thought 'unfarmable' due to the difficult mixed mobs that would annihilate traditional farming builds, such as a healing hands warrior.

Ahh. Got it. Thanks.

And it's better than Obsidian Flesh because it doesn't only stop spells.

scar eater is so easy to farm with e/a its kinda retarded.......

I like it when the Oni spawn. Makes for a quick death for the boss.

I have like a 100% success rate on this guy. And Scar eaters go for like 10-15K still.

The build still works on this guy....just did it like 3 days ago to get a healing staff for one of my Hero monks.

How versatile is that build? I don't immediately see how one could get through very many mobs with it. Don't you die soon after Shadow Form runs out?

It's for killing bosses specifically. You can't farm an entire area with it, just teleport in, kill the boss, teleport out. When the boss dies you get morale, and you can then refresh shadow form to collect your item.

So it only works if you can run/teleport around mobs. Got it. Thanks!

Have any NightFall bosses gone down due to this so far?

yes, NF bosses can be farmed using this build.

I don't have time to try everybody, I know that I farmed Hajor(sp), Yammiron, Hajkor (I know ppl will say why bother since you can use worm to farm hajkor).

Mesmer, Ele, monks, necro bosses are easy to farm using this build provided they have huge mobs around them.

With the new henchie AI, solo farm boss becomes less popular.
