Default New to Elementalists

Hello

Im building up Brutally Elegant my new Elementalist and I'm thinking of going fire damage earth wards direction and I was just wondering if Glypth of Essence works well with Ether Prodigy?
Would the Glyph get rid of all your energy before Ether Prodigy zaps you for damage or would the damage be taken off first then you lose all the energy?

Thanks for input and experience.

Edit - Or with exceptional playing skills and timing is it possible to zap your energy to 0 just before Ether Prodigy runs out then you receive the minimum damage possible... Dammit Im gonna think about this all day now instaed of concentrating on work.

i would stick to a single element instead of running your attributes everywhere...for fire (or any element) i use this--fire attunement, aura of restoration, mystic regeneration (a dervish earth prayers skill) and damage skills of your choice--16 fire, 13 energy storage, 8 earth prayers is what i use. for a fire elite, searing flames is best.

if your going to use an energy saving elite, i would go with elemental attunement combined with your other attunement (fire, earth, etc) and mystic regeneration. with the 2 attunements you will never ever run out of energy unless your hit with an energy denial mes.

at 8 earth prayers mystic regen gives you +3 regen per enchantment equaling +9 regen, which you can keep on constantly.

whatever element you choose, put 16 in it.

keep in mind that this is all from my expiriences and is only my opinion on how an ele should or can be run......so please no flaming

Focus swap to avoid damage from prodigy. Switch to a low energy sword/shield set. I use a halves skill recharge axe and one of my 5 shields, depending on which build I'm playing against.

So things go something like this: stay in regular energy set->cast prodigy->cast spells->prodigy starts to blink->swap to shield set->take minimal damage. Hopefully you don't ride prodigy very high and let it take you up to full, you should just be recasting it over and over to get the energy off of it and using it all up by the time it ends.

I spam Heal Party and Blinding Flash to minimize damage from Prodigy. >_> Yeah... I guess weapon swapping would work too.

Oki thanks for input. I dont have NF yet as I cant consecrate the time that I know it will suck out of my life yet. (waiting until baby hits the 7hrs sleep at a time milestone) So the Dervish secondary is no go for the moment as is Searing Flames. I dont have that many Ele gadgets yet as my primary perso is a warrior so whilst focus swapping is a good idea its out of reach for the moment.
But coming back to the original question, can you use Glyph of sacrifice to send out a spell and ergo zap all your mana before the damage for Ether Prodigy hits - and then rezap Ether Prodigy to build up the mana regen again? Or is this manner of Nrg management just too bulky/unweildy/unpredictable to bother with and I go Channeling direction until I get my Assassin secondary?

Just switch to a slot with no weapons. It's the same thing, only without any sort of bonuses while you're doing it.
