Elementalists are finally doing what they're supposed to be good at -- Damage. Since it's FIRE style of spells, you gotta expect a serious "searing" over the flames.

Mystic regen is a kick ass skill though, but i use it together with dual attunements to counter degen, works like a charm. It's also a nice cover enchant. At least i have some room for offensive skills on my bar as well that way and i can spam them like crazy. I use air in PvP btw. cos I didn't get far with my SF ele, poor bugger got killed all the time...

except i dont do no damage, i do ALOT of damage and have ALOT of defense. they cant just run off because then ill use grasping earth as a snare....yeah yeah yeah, "you can bring hex removal and enchant removal blah blah blah" but the truth is warriors and assassins arent running around with shatter enchantment and a bunch of hex removals...along with a large majority of the players. you all have to understand that there is a counter to EVERY build, there is no perfect build, no build can do everything. but some people use common sense and if they are running a build like this all you do is avoid necros and mesmers....

what are these magical other skills? seems like the majority of your bar is self-preservation, which is pretty dumb, no offense.
Unless an ele is running significant pressure (searing flames) then he should be playing a more defensive role (drawing conditions, blinding warriors, healing parties, warding against things, etc) and occasionly contributing damage to something, through spike or just a lightning orb assist on something near death. Running obs flame and kinetic armor means you're not doing shit for anything but yourself, and if you can't contribute real damage, and you can't contribute team defense, than you're a waste of a slot.

obsid flame takes 2 seconds( i think) to cast and causes exhaustion. you cant spam it efficently.

Let's see what Earth spells there are...
Aftershock - sucks. Adjacent wtf.
Ash Blash - sucks. 48 Earth damage is nothing to look at.
Churning Earth - sucks. Omg AoE I walk one step away.
Crystal Wave - sucks. Adjacent wtf.
Dragon's Stomp - more for the knockdown.
Earthquake - more for the knockdown.
Ebon Hawk - sucks. Expensive + unspammable.
Glowstone - more for e-management for builds with weakness. Unused since nobody uses Weakness anyway.
Obsidian Flame - spiking.
Sandstorm - Something that's actually halfway useful. Especially in HA, it seems.
Shockwave - sucks unless you're just having fun.
Stone Daggers - sucks sucks SUCKS.
Stoning - sucks.
Teinai's Crystals - sucks.

As much as I'd like Earth magic to be a good choice for general PvE play, it really lacks. An enchant reliant defense is really to weak to go on if you are going to base your attacks on PBAoE. While Earth Magic is awesome in certain instances like solo farming or as an Obsid Flesh tank, it really doesn't have the same damage potential as fire. Sandstorm is very nice, but still lacks in PvE since enemies tend not to stay in the effect and snared enemies don't attack to trigger the bonus damage. The real strength of Earth is the ability to KD, but even then, this is often best left to other classes to accomplish.

how many times do i have to say, try the damn build. if you didnt notice elemental attunement+earth attunement bassicaly gives you unlimited energy.....and i never mentioned using kinetic armor. obsidian flame+ebon hawk+stoning+stone daggers does a gret deal of damage. it does good for spike damage and exhaustion has pretty much no effect on you with over 80 energy......your all saying how its such a bad build, but then why do i kill soooo many people with it? and no it isnt only **noobs** i kill with it. no searing flames ele has killed me with with this build. and for the hundredth time, shatter enchant isnt a problem! ANYONE THAT USES ANY ENCHANTMENTS AT ALL RISKS ENCHANTMENT REMOVAL!

No obs flame + ebon hawk + stoning + stone daggers does not do "a great deal of damage". It does a moderate amount of easily mitigated damage. And as you haven't listed your build anywhere, it's hard for anyone to try it (though it probably sucks).
Lessee, you have four offensive skills + dual attunements. That's 6 slots already. You mentioned mystic regeneration, so that's a 7th. The 8th is usually reserved for rez, though you can drop it for something else. I can't imagine that it would make your build much better.
Searing flames + gg + fire attunement + GoLE is much better than your crap offense, and you can take stuff like mystic regeneration and such if you want to pump up your defense.
So yeah...your build sucks.

I keep having scrimages with ppl in my guild (I'm an ele btw) & I bring sandstorm/searing flames & they tell me its cheating.....I dont see the cheat in that...
