The "nerf SF" cries probably come from the people who thought there was nothing wrong with the elementalist class before nightfall. They "pwned" PvE with echo meteor shower and so obviously anything that's better than that combo must be overpowered.

I wouldn't pay much attention to them.

Its just appalling really. Little wonder then that people would cry overpowered.
Spot on. If you just spread the hell out, only one person will get the burning. remove the burning then the ele doesn't get energy from glowing gaze...easy.

You really think of these cry babies over here to have that much logic and game expereince to do what you suggested?

Although the fact that you called them cry babies was a bit harsh, I do agree that some people lack logic.

I do not have access to my account at the moment, so I haven't seen those "searing flames" builds yet. I can't really say what I think of the new build now, because it would be very ingorant and arrogant of me to do so. However, I do hope the "buff" the elementalists got are good enough to make them an actual damage dealing class (not that good enough to be nerfed, mind you). Althought I have never lost faith in my elementalist, I am glad that there might be a chance for my elementalist to do what the elementalist class was meant to do which is to deal damage, and to stop being an utility class.

Pardon for any grammar errors I might had made.

I can't say that i was harsh enough actually. When the OP could call every one A**holes on his first few posts, i think i got a chance to return the favour.

PS: Majority of the skills from Prophicies and Factions still need to be buffed, specially those in fire line. I like mark of rodgorts with searing flames still.

Went back and checked the posts. I still can't believe I missed that.

In response to the PS: I don't know about the Prophecies skills needing buffs, but Factions skills certainly does. Lightning Hammer is good for a "never miss Lightning Orb" but has more expensive energy use and longer recharge (from what I remember anyways, it's not as I can go back on my account and check it out again). An added effect like knockdown would be nice (Lightning Hammer+Lightning orb combination anyone?) .. but then, the much-needed buffs probably won't happen. =P

PS: At least we could use Dervish as a secondary for our elementalists to help make us more effective in PvPs, provided if we know how to use the Dervish skills.

I would say, lighting hammer is alrite for the damage output. An ele can still maintain it. Dodging a lighting orb, however, bugs me big time. All u gotta do is walk and you can miss it.
Been using the combination of those two (orb and hammer) for quite a while now.

As far as prophicies goes, quite a few skills need a buff, and there are various threads maintained by very skilled people who have contributed their ideas for the buffs, have a look. If you can't find them, let me know, i will paste the links for you.

What I truly find funny about the people crying for a SF nerf is the fact that these inflated damage numbers that people toss out sound incredible, but they're presented in a vacuum. They're not taken in the context of a real game.

In a real game, you wouldn't let a warrior rage in your face while you stood there and took it would you? (The correct answer is no). So why would you let an elementalist sit there and spam fire skills at you. (Again, the correct answer is, you wouldn't).

All too often people make the argument that GW is all rock, paper, scissors. What people tend to forget is that for every part GW is about the build, it is equal part about the execution. Inflexibility in tactics or execution isn't a reason to bust out the nerf bat.

Wouldn't Dervish secondary mean...no HEAL PARTY?

I wouldn't mind if Aegis was added to the list, but it's not needed.

extinguish would actually make more sense in water (from a design standpoint). Hp and aegis not so much. Though even if they did that I'd still play e/mo, I just wouldn't have to spread attributes so thin.

true, but i would keep heal party for ele storage to make it easier for the attribute distribution :P, Aegis could be in same, or non attribute by keeping it to 50% always *grins*

Comon guys dont worry. By the time C4 comes around, Anet will then nerf SF and introduce a even more powerful/fun spell to play and tempt you to buy it and the nerf buff cycle continues.

Searingway sucks. They're simply free fame teams, last time we pwned them with a PUG.

Yeah, that's why it shouldn't be nerfed.
