last two slots are a rez and w/e you want for last, sometimes its good to have [skill]frigid armor[/skill] like when fighting the great destroyer and i often fill it with Light of Delidrimor. but yea that should serve you well

Oh Noes...
Anyway, Myself and Sousuke have been running a two-pronged approach to killing destroyers. I've been running an Air build, to spread conditions amongst the warriors (since they seem to do the greatest damage), while Sousuke has been warding and merrily causing Knock-Downs.
Me:
[wiki]Elemental Attunement[/wiki]
[wiki]Air Attunement[/wiki]
[wiki]Blinding Flash[/wiki]
[wiki]Shell Shock[/wiki] or [wiki]Enervating Charge[/wiki]
[wiki]Epidemic[/wiki]
[wiki]Lightning Orb[/wiki]
[wiki]Lightning Hammer[/wiki]
[wiki]Alkar's Alchemical Acid[/wiki] or [wiki]Enervating Charge[/wiki]
(if I don't take Alkar's Acid, I take Shell Shock and Enervatin Charge, when I do take Alkar's Acid, I switch SHell Shock for Enervating Charge)
Sousuke:
[wiki]Earth Attunement[/wiki]
[wiki]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/wiki]
[wiki]Ward Against Melee[/wiki]
[wiki]Unsteady Ground[/wiki]
[wiki]Stoning[/wiki]
[wiki]Glowstone[/wiki]
[wiki]Dragon's Stomp[/wiki]
[wiki]Eruption[/wiki]

I'm not an ele myself so i dont know how well it will work on players. but these are the builds i run on my two ele heroes.
Sousuke:
[card]Sandstorm[/card][card]Obsidian Flame[/card][card]Eruption[/card][card]Ward Against Foes[/card][card]Ebon Hawk[/card][card]Glyph Of Lesser Energy[/card][card]Earth Attunement[/card][card]Resurrection Chant[/card]
Vekk:
[card]Unsteady Ground[/card][card]Earthquake[/card][card]Ward Against Melee[/card][card]Eruption[/card][card]Extinguish[/card][card]Glyph Of Lesser Energy[/card][card]Earth Attunement[/card][card]Resurrection Chant[/card]
They seem to tear through most things, inflicting blind and the occasional weakness, knocking down and inflicting high damage to melee with their elites, and the wards help a lot.
take from them what you will.

Sandstorm and Unsteady Ground contradict themselves. 1 uses attacking foes to deal extra dmg while the other knocks them down so they cant attack. I'd use 2 Sandstorms with skills that cause condition and slow down along with Sandstorm but not knock down. it's pretty much like SH Ele just with Earth Magic.

Cheers Zling. Its funny, they still seem to tear through most enemies, especially charr... those poor seekers just don't stand a chance.
Ill rethink my Vekk's build once i get the chance.

I find the knock-down ability of Earth Magic accompanied by an Air Ele to be the best approach. Water Magic snares foes through the use of hexes, which are quickly removed by enemy mesmers using Hex Eater Vortex and Shatter Hex, which makes Water Magic a little useless, as it's primary use is utility, and not for damage. With an Earthbind Ritualist the Destroyers can ke kept "licking floor" for that bit longer with skills such as Earthquake and Unsteady Ground.

Why would you want to use Extinguish vs Destroyers? Other than the fight with the big man himself Extinguish is of no use.

Enervating charge/shell shock and either mystic regen/storm djinn's haste would fit a lot better on that bar than the other stuff, desert.

if you're going to be facing a lot of destroyers, there's really no point in running more than one ele as the armor is so high that even speccing in one of the lesser used elements is still going to be terrible damage. a better bet would be to bring as many necro heroes as you can and just blow them up with ss and spread weakness with enfeebling blood.

The only really good thing an Ele can do against destroyers is blind. BSurge / Enervating / Shell Shock with Alkar's Acid is the best I've seen; I guess you can go dual attunes as well, but there's enough enchant removal around that it's not all that reliable and it isn't like the damage is that good anyway; Alkar's Acid at a decent spec blows away anything an Ele can do with its own skills and it doesn't work at all on an attune guy.
I'd suggest the above 4 skills, an Attunement and GLE, then toss in a Ward or something from a secondary, or some PvE skills.
I wouldn't even think about Ele heroes against destroyers, not when there are a bunch of hero classes that are actually good against them available.

um wrong, with the build i posted i shread destroyers so fast that the wars generally just get up to them..... fire eles are garbage against destroyers but if you are smart enough to change eles can shread destroyers.

Well now that I had an chance to fight them myself on my ele. I'll have to agree with Ensign. Most Destroyers are Warriors or Ranger with high armor vs Elemental Damage, you do moderate damage against them excluding Necro and Mesmer ones tho.
Well since i didn't feel like condition spamming, i used something like this.
Shatterstone
Glowing Ice
Energy blast
Water attunement
Last 4 skills were Utility/PvE skills/whatever I felt like bringing. I usually had Alkar's Alchemical connocation, Blurred Vision, glyph of lesser energy and a rez.
Energy blast is nice because its armor ignoring damage, but hard to manage good damage with it you don't have good energy management like in the build i used. Shatterstone + Glowing ice did just under 100 dmg to warrior Destroyers without cracked armor or the deldrimor title.

That bar makes me want to kill a puppy. And it makes destroyers want to kill you.

ether prism is a great skill, granted you have to have some intelligence to use it. but it is one of my fav energy managements.
