How good is Esther Prodigy and is worth capping today?

Not generally, but it has it's niche builds. Certainly not a priority though, by any means.

I'd say the skill suck. Yes you have +6 energy regen but when it ends you take 3 damage for each point of energy http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ether_Prodigy
There is no way to prevent the damage, not even with Protective Spirit so either you have to get rid of the energy fast or have some hella-high HP.
Well, this skill CAN be usefull at times in PvE, but I'd say those times are very very few... Don't even think of using it in PvP, since that'll be suicide

Mind Blast is still much more viable in terms of energy management if you have NF. Sure, it was nerfed, but It's still amazing

Ether Prodigy is still very much a viable skill - an ele flagger in GvG can still spam HP, BFlash and Water crap with EP (though I've not seen an E/Mo on obs for a while - Rt/A flaggers are all the rage atm)
It's just rather 'meh' in PvE - Mind Blast gives you more than enough energy for PvE skills and still lets you blow things up with Rodgort's.

It's good for pumping out non-elemental spells like HP etc, although mind blast is still probably better.
Just swap to a low energy set when it's ending.

I would rather use Ether Prism instead. No exhaustion, no enchantment removal (like attunements), no self-harm. If you use it properly, it will give you 25 energy every 12 seconds, which means 6.25 pips of energy regeneration. The only downside is that it's easily interrupted and it sucks to use a 2-seconds-casting-spell every 12 seconds to manage your energy.

If something goes wrong, you'll end up needing emanagement for your emanagement lol.

All I have to say is this. If your using [skill]ether prodigy[/skill] you should have [skill]glyph of essence[/skill]
Dunno just makes sense to me.

Sure, if you're running met shower or something. Otherwise you may as well just spam stuff.

Your point being to not take too much damage? If it's something else please say.
I'm saying that you would get a whole lot more efficiency from using your skills that actually do stuff then swap down to a -energy set before it ends.

My point? Ether Prodigy Is about to end. Get rid of your energy. It would be a crime to assume that spamming was not happening while under its effects.
After I first capped it, I played around with various ways to take the least amount of damage from it. Essence yielded best results. That is all.

Hardly worth a skill slot to avoid you taking a tiny amount of damage, though, when the same results could be achieved whilst also making useful casts and just a single weapon swap and back every time the enchant ends.

I fail to see the validity in your argument. How am I not making useful casts?
If anything the glyph serves two useful functions. Alongside the other 6 skill slots. So saying nothing useful is going on because I have a glyph is a rather moot point.
1, It negates the vast majority of potential damage from ether prodigy.
2, In conjunction with ether prodigy it is a better glyph of sacrifice as it does not add to the recharge duration of the particular skill used after the glyph.
Another thing just hit me your arguing the wasted skill slot. Wouldn't you agree that the elite slot would be better spent anyway?
Edit: In preperation for the glyph of sacrifice sucks comment. It has its uses.

Ahh sorry, I didn't notice that there was another post in here until today.
Glyph of essence is fine as a fail-safe if something goes wrong. Part of my argument was about a wasted slot, yes. And I agree, the elite could more than likely be better spent.
The "better than glyphsac" thing though is what brought me onto met shower - I wouldn't be running either if I didn't have a skill like that, personally.
