Does it cause burning before, or after the spell it hooks onto. I was almost positive it started burning after the spell. However, when observing a GvG match, there was a Shatterstone Elementalist use GoI -> Steam with nothing inbetween. Anyways, mind helping me out?

Yes, it causes burning upon activation of the spell. So spells such as steam, glowing gaze, and searing flames will all get the benefit even if the target isn't burning first.

Miska, you need to reread the question. He asked if burning was applied before or after the spell took effect, not how many spells were affected.

I'm well aware of what the wiki says. However, you responded with a link and duration, not with the answer the OP was after.
