Knock'em Down Earth Elementalist
I've been playing with this build on my elementalist lately and find it quite useful. I don't claim it to be the best but, I averaged 3x knock down in the 21 second time frame provided by [Ward of Weakness] chain with [stone daggers] follow by [stoning] then [ash blast] also am able to keep it up constantly since the recharge time for [ward of weakness] is only 20 provided you do not get knock down/interrupt yourself and know which target to go for first.
I also managed to maintain the energy level above half, roughly 80% of the time using [glyph of lesser energy] and [Glowstone], last time I use it was to vanquish Snake Dance at 10% morale boost, then had to quit at Dreadnought's Drift after too many death penalty , so while its quite useful and fun knocking your foes down repeatedly and blind them, if anyone can think of what to replace for this build to be able to kill off the MOB THAT WON'T BE PULL APART AT Dreadnought's Drift, I'll be very thankful. Some how the build below using the BBC code says 12 earth and 12 energy storage, but in actual I have 16 earth and 13 energy storage and am using a kerrsh's staffs
The team build up: this ele build on my character, livia as n/rt healer, gwen as me/n spoil victor, olias mm bomber, alesia, lina, stefan (whom i want to kill for aggroing everything in sight) and reyna.
[build=Knock'em Down;OgBCkMzDrYV0D7zc1oPsAZA]
THANKS FOR ALL THE FEED BACK! if you use this build, Please listen to advise given by players below, they are good, I am trying to get my earth 40/40 set now.
another version after more testing
[build=Konck'em Down Version 2; OgBCkMzjqoHuKcF95oPpIVA]
[build=Knock'em Down Version 3;OgBCkMzkqQP0qgrAuY0HpQqA]
easy to use, keep attunements up, wards up, then cast 1,2,3,4 (if no 5 just go 1,2,3,4 easy)
Earth Quake will konck'em down, follow by ash blast to blind them, if they are in the ward knock'em down again with stoning, then end it with aftershock at 105+72 pretty much very dead lol.

If you're wanting a knock-down Earth Ele I would really suggest [Unsteady Ground] instead of Sandstorm. [Churning Earth] also triggers on any enemy that can be knocked down in HM since they all have a 50% speed boost.

Personally, I rather like an earth magic 40/40 set, [[Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom], Enfeebling Blood and Stoning Spam.
The only problem with the ward is that you have to hope your foe enters it. I'd go wih Unsteady Ground instead of Sandstorm, but all in all, the build isn't that bad. The damage from stone daggers is dubious.

You know, I hadn't thought of that. Well spotted!

The problem with [ash blast] is that it blinds a single foe, not all foes. For AoE blindness, you want [eruption] instead. And since the recharge rates start to get long that way, you probably want to make yourself an E/A and swap out that elite for [assassin's promise].

AP requires spike or just high damage, usually with deep wound. Your bar won't kill a squat.
Stick to Unsteady Ground or Churning Earth.

With those recharge times, you'll be killing even less.

Just because Elementalists are less adept at killing than other professions doesn't mean they're not useful.
[[Ether Renewal] helps pump out PvE skills, and the Earth magic line provides some nice party defence through Wards - ([[Ward of Stability] vs Jotun, [[Ward Against Elements] vs Elementals). [[Blinding Flash] is also very useful versus Destroyers because of the sheer number of physicals they have.
Personally though I have never had a problem killing stuff in Eye of the North. Rodgort's Spam usually nukes most things.
[Eruption] is too fun not to take in an Earth Build imo.
Also, [Enfeebling Blood] is far better at spreading weakness than Ward of Weakness I think. You have to hope that the enemies step in the ward for it to work, and Enfeebling is not expensive.
