anyway, i can definitely see the dual attune-dual SF doing a ton of damage but there's still plenty of room on your bar for support also. [[steam], [[deep freeze], [[ward against foes], [[ward against melee], [[ward against element] are all decent choices. with a dual attune, you don't need E storage at 13. back it down to 10 and throw some helpers on that bar and you should be good to go.
|
You have a good point, I can easily back down my energy storage since im using dual attunement. I should throw in some utilities
And sorry for the build, i figured out how to post single skills but not build templates. Basically the build is E/Rt Vekk with [Savannah heat] and [splinter weapon] its a wiki build... I give splinter weapon to vekk and livia
Looks like thunderclap is all mega now.. after the update ursan is now crap and air magic has been buffed

Fire is only appealing to me (and I'm assuming most other players) earlier in the game. In most end game areas, and pretty much all of HM, you'll find your amazing 120 damage Rodgort doing considerably less then 100 damage.
Now, if you have a decent ranking, using [Ether Renewal], [Aura of Restoration],[Arcane Echo], [Cry of Pain], [Ether Nightmare] [Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom], and some other skills that are up to you (you can honestly just throw 12 points into anything, since your only using Energy Storage with that setup), you can effectively outclass any Fire spammer late in the game, while providing much need interrupts, and whatever else.
Hell, you could even throw your points into Fire and STILL take Rodgort's.

What?
If you're referring to [Ether Nightmare (Kurzick)] being a Kurzick skill, have you tried [Ether Nightmare (Luxon)]?
It doesn't take long at all to get tier 1 of the luxon title track. You only need tier 1 for Ether Nightmare to do its job of fulfilling the hex requirement for Cry of Pain!

wow thanks beaver. Im rank 6 luxon.. That is what i like about this game. Ive been playing for over 2 years and have put almost 4k hours in to it. Still it seems i learn something new every day. Are all kurz skill s the same as lux?
I also never knew that it was possible to map a hero skill to your keyboard (at least without using a macro program) but that is a little to close to botting for me. Although i still dont know how to map the skills, at least i know it is possible.
On a side note, I wonder why you are not allowed to have the word beaver in your name in GW. I know about its connotations but what about all the true beaver enthusiasts out there? seems kinda biased in my opinion.

Yes, the Kurzick and Luxon PvE skills are identical, but you can't equip both the Kurzick and Luxon Ether Nightmare on your bar at the same time.
Binding a hero skill to your keyboard is in no way "botting". It's in the game options. For information, see this guide under Section 3c.
Also, yes, the name "Beaver" is blocked on GW. Probably because silly Americans use it to describe a certain intimate area. -_- Ironic really, when the game itself has "Corsair Seamen" in quests like "A Sticky Operation"...hypocritical much ANet? Bleh...

rofl thats awesome.. I wonder how long the name "Discharged Seamen" would fly
and i will definitly look in to the skill mapping. i understand that mapping is not even close to botting, but the use of macro software is.
I was really hoping that the massive update today would make [ice prison] AoE

Is there a skill like [epidemic] that spreads hexes instead of conditions?
I love your guide BTW, i think ive read a couple of them and you make them through and easy to understand and this hero mapping thing just opened up a whole new door for me too. I cant wait to try it out tomorrow. there are lots of things i would like to micromanage quickly on my heros.

All I was really saying was there is already an AoE snare in the form of Deep Freeze. The 25 energy is nothing to an Ele if you have some sort of energy management, and if you want it to last longer on one particular foe, use Chilling Winds. I don't think Ice Prison/Teinai's Prison warranted a buff.

it would be great if Ice prison was AoE though. I dont think im going to worry about using the snare on my build, i like the idea of [chilling winds] + [deep freeze] i think im going to give it to a hero and hotkey it.
I know that Deep freeze is AoE, but does chilling winds carry over to other enemies too?

No, Chilling Winds is single target only.
If you want an AoE snare that lasts a while... [Shared Burden].
COMPLETE waste of an elite slot though.

well perfect, i usually take gwen along anyways. I feel silly for not reading the whole skill.
Well i tested and modified and took all your suggestions into account... Here is what i came up with...
[arcane mimicry][fire attunement][mindbender][glyph of swiftness][searing flames][arcane echo][glowing gaze][meteor shower]
and here is zhed who is my water ele who has 40/40 water magic wand and offhand
[elemental attunement][water attunement][aura of restoration][mystic regeneration][steam][freezing gust][ice spikes][deep freeze]
i so far was very suprised at how fast i could kill mobs. before this build i used to be able to watch enemies die, but now it seems i glance down at my skill bar while im spamming SF and when i look up the mob is gone. so far i vanquished 3 areas near bone palace with that build and i am pretty satisfied. BTW [meteor shower] + [deep freeze] makes a sick snare
My team consisted of :
ME (SF spammage) [elemental attunement][fire attunement][mindbender][glyph of swiftness][searing flames][searing flames][glowing gaze][meteor shower]
ZHed (Ele attunement host/snare) [elemental attunement][water attunement][aura of restoration][mystic regeneration][steam][freezing gust][ice spikes][deep freeze]
Livia (N/Rt healer) [weapon of remedy][spirit light][protective was kaolai][life][mend body and soul][signet of lost souls][soothing memories][flesh of my flesh]
Whispers (SS) [spiteful spirit][arcane echo][defile enchantments][enfeebling blood][ulcerous lungs][suffering][signet of lost souls][well of darkness]
Healer hench
Healer hench
Motivation Hench
Derv hench.
I was thinking of swapping out [Spiteful Spirit] Whispers for [visions of regret] Gwen
I welcome any advice.

Heck, even a Mesmer can do it when the armour gets high enough. Might not even need AP+CoP spam to do it.
