I think Satu was trying say that very few ele's obtain Ursan skill before they defeat the doppelganger. Which would mean that most ele's attempting to defete the doppelganger would not have the Ursan skill. Plus why would you buy or play eotn when you have not even completed prophecies?

If your sunspear rank is 10 then I am going to say that you can switch professions already through nightfall campaign. Go /n and take awaken the blood+ as many health sac skills as you can and it is gg....
Edit: Just to make sure I am clear. All you do is enter the missions stand there do nothing and he kills himself.

To answer the OP, the build works very well in NM, dopple is dead in the time it takes to cast the spells. Not so well in HM tho.

Even on HM, you can kill him fast enough to get the bonus very easily by using:
Curses 12
[enfeeble][insidious parasite]
Those are the only two skills on the bar. The hex will be stealing back 3x as much HP as his attacks deal in damage. Just cast them on recharge and stand there and let him attack you. So easy it's laughable.
Edit: You can throw [spiteful spirit] on the bar as well to make it go even faster, but it's not necessary.

but, if it's a first-playthrough,
/Ra: pet skills are the way. Or just bring long-casting spirits and rape him while he's casting
/N: Any skill with a life sacrifice as part of its cost
/W: Frenzy
/Me: Empathy
/Mo: Does he still refuse to use Healing Breeze?
/any: my first time, I used long-cast time AoE spells. Cast Meteor shower instantly. He'll probably do the same. (This is the hard part) Remember to move out of his MS. Roll him while he stands in the MS.

The doppelganger DOES use Healing Breeze now - it was the only enchant my ele carried in and the doppel had it up constantly making it damned hard taking her down. Was most disconcerting.
(Unless there's a hidden enchant I don't know about?)
ETA: Ursan, Frenzy and Heal Signet = less than 15 second victory .

Yeah, just use all PvE skills. If you are just coming up through prophecies, as someone already mentioned, take a ranger secondary and load up on a ton of long casting nature rituals. He'll waste time casting them and you can take him down. I really wish this was a repeatable mission (this and the glacial griffin). I would love to play around with a bunch of gimmicky stuff.

The glacial griffon is a quest, and I wish it were repeatable, too. However, Augury Rock is a mission, and all missions are repeatable, so go back and play with all the gimmicks you like.

Actually that Assassin support skill is pretty cool. You can use echo and arcane echo to summon multiple assassins.
And kudos on iron mist! This is getting really fun now.
This got me masters on Hard Mode:
