well honestly, there is not much you can do with only nightfall. especially with an ele.
[fire [email protected]][aura of [email protected]][mystic [email protected]][[email protected]][[email protected]][mind [email protected]][liquid [email protected]][[email protected]] id run that for fire
but i would highly recommend that you get at the very least one more campaign, it will open up soooo many more possibilities for you. There are not many options for nightfall eles.
Or just make a derv, they are effective when you dont have any other campaigns.. Dont make a paragon until you get factions because you will want to have [save yourselves]

Daze, since he asked for an e/w build that worked with an ele sword i think he actually wants to use a sword..
as for the using a sword on an ele,the answer is no.
there is NO good sword build for an ele period.
as for a usable only nf build(you should get prophs and eotn if your serious about playing this game..)
[master of magic][enervating charge][glowstone][ward against melee][blurred vision][maelstrom][deep freeze][fireball]
not many options for nf only eles

a couple tips...
The first tip I have for you is once you get to the command post, add a few more secondary professions. A warrior secondary doesn’t real give you anything of real value; in fact trying to incorporate warrior skills into your builds won’t be very pretty. But, just for all the flamers, there are a few builds a warrior secondary works well with. A couple builds off the top of my head are for wurm farming and running. I know what you’re thinking, my setup seems fine. Well, ya lots of weird builds work at low levels. And to be honest, in NM PVE even very mediocre builds will pull you through 90% + of the missions.
But if you want a far more useful secondary I’d start with Mesmer. This will open up many very useful skills to your character. At the top of the list are Arcane Echo and Echo. Not to mention a long list of goodies like the mantras, E-management and interrupt skills.
Once you get Arcane Echo, combine that with Sandstorm or Savannah Heat. Throw in the Glyph of Lesser Energy, and you really can’t go wrong imo.
Just one final note, you’re obviously very new to the game. Just know this, as your characters progress they will eventually have call to require nearly all the secondaries available to it. I just say that because I can’t even begin to count how many people have asked the same droning question. “What secondary is best?” Here is the answer, get them all. Use the one that best fits your current mission.

If you must use a martial weapon and a shield, i recommend using a spear with a shield. That way you can stay ranged in case you start getting <C><SPACEBAR> happy.

If you want melee build - better use ele/dervish with scythe.
(with PvE skills: kurzik aura holy might, asura :asuran scan and Pain inverter) with triple necros works perfect. I Vanquish with ele/dervish almost all zones in all campains.
If you real wanna use warrior skills - you can take some tactics skills shields up
Watch yourself need adrenalin ... Save Yourself need it too so spear is better than sword.
So if you do prot build you need wards and blur vision. and 2-3 war skills.
Imho ele/war not so good build for melee in PvE. ele/Der better, especially with splinter weapon. try it and you can see so many wonderfull damage numbers ))))
BTW i see so many damage only using promise nuker build.
All i say it`s only mine opinion ... I do with ele/derv build so many pve titles ( guardian vanquisher master of north)

i make different variations of them ...
good luck to you... and sorry for my bad english.
