Thats ok if I am in a group. I use heros often enough, and most of the time I play with My girlfriend who is a R/Mo, so it is useful to have a self heal and a res skill in there since she is not as far or as experianced in this game as Me.

There are other thing than just posting bad build that lead to flames.

OP: Ad suggested earth build, earth might look slow, but its benefits (lots of defense and okay damage) allow players to mow groups faster because there is less (ideally, none at all) downtime waiting for monks to regen. Or allows you to run with only one monk (more damage from freed monk party slot = enemies dies faster = they deal less damage = monks needs to heal less)

When I get some money i will have a go at investing in some earth magic skills and have a play around. If it feels right I may continue with it.

Since you have Breath of Fire, I'll assume you've been to Kaineng Center. Honestly, I would seriously recommend replacing [[breath of fire] with [[teinai's heat] (which can also be purchased in Kaineng). It has the same listed damage, cast time, and recharge time. However, Teinai's Heat has a larger area of effect (nearby instead of adjacent), which makes it easier to catch multiple enemies within it. Teinai's Heat also causes 3 seconds of burning upon ending. Burning is 7 pips of degen, which is 14 HP per second, for an additional 42 points of HP lost. Pretty good for just 10 more energy. Remember that as an ele, you have good energy management options; don't worry about dropping 15 (or even 25) energy on one spell.

A great spell for any fire magic bar is [rodgort's invocation], but only two skill trainers sell it. You need to reach Marhan's Grotto or Ember Light Camp, both of which are farther in prophecies than you currently are. It's a good skill to keep an eye out for.

I looked at it, with the recent energy bonus' I have put onto my charater I should be able to use that now. Before it didn't look worth the energy cost.

chocodiledundee, I hope you aren't charging into the battle to use [Double Dragon] just to get the damage. @ only 5e cost, it's perfectly acceptable to use that to increase your Fire Magic by +1/+2 (depending on Attribute Point spread) and ignore the damage aspect entirely. You'll survive a lot longer than if you (as a 60AL squishy) tried to get up in a Warrior's face to hit him with a little bit of damage.

No I only use it when enemys break through my party lol.

Needing to charge into battle to get additional benefit out of it is what makes this such a weak spell. If you don't risk your life and charge on in you're only getting about +2 to your Fire Magic Attribute. [[Glyph of Elemental Power] does this for you also, but frees up your elite slot for something more useful. Not only that, but Glyph of Elemental Power isn't an enchantment which can't be stripped, and it's only real downside is that it can't be used at the same time as other Glyphs. At the end of the day though you need to ask yourself "Is the +2 to Fire Magic benefitting me enough to warrant spending a skillslot achieving it?". In most cases you should find the answer is "No".

I'd advise against Double Dragon - It might look fun, but is ultimately a waste.

Better elites to use in it's place could be: [Elemental Attunement], [Savannah Heat], [Ether Renewal (PvE)], [Mind Blast], [Searing Flames].

Having an elite that you're using that conditionally is a waste. Elite spells are more powerful than normal spells, on the whole, and you should aim to use your elite as much, and as intelligently, as you can.

As it stands I dont have any others and as you can see this is an evolving build over the time I am playing.

Just something of note if you're looking for more elites: If you can get to the Double Dragon boss, you can get to the Elemental Attunement boss located in The Undercity.

Cebe has way more experience than I do with Ele's. I just wanted to make sure that since you had DD on your skillbar that it was getting use. While [[Glyph of Elemental Power] would do much better for you (Cebe was right - there, I said it), you explained yourself and your build-in-progress well, so until you cap [Elemental Attunement] (which I agree you should quickly, and replace DD with EA) make sure you use Double Dragon to get that +2 Fire Magic before a fight, and during the fight to maintain it. At least that way you would be getting some use out of it.

Unless of course Cebe tells you to do something else, then listen to that.

Saw your updated build: It's much better.

However, I would drop AoR. It is not nearly as good as how everyone seems to make it out to be. You should have more than enough energy management as it is.

I recommend bringing a rez sig and use your last slot (not counting AoR) for a useful 2nd class support. You'll find that Eles are better at support than damage the further you venture into the game. There are parts where Fire Eles just plain suck.

If you play dual attunements [elemental attunement], you can practically spam your entire bar and still be good on energy. However, this leads to poor e management skills and may hurt you in the future. In the meantime however, its ridiculously fun to make everything explode.

I like [mind blast] when I use fire. It allows me to use more [rodgort's invocation] and OP PvE skills. Highly recommend it.
