Hey I know this is off-topic a bit but I happen to think that Ele's make the best Cryer's (Cry of Pain) because of their high energy pool. I have yet to do any higher damage than with an Ele hitting 40 HM Raptors with COP 3 times in rapid succession. Cast Intensity before Echo, then the first COP (does 125 damage X 40) then cast Ural's Hammer, Arcane Echo, the Echoed COP (does 156 damage X 40), then the Arcane Echoed COP (does 156 damage X 40). Total time ~ 7 secs, total damage 17,480.
Yes, I know this first screenshot shows a Warrior Cryer:
Ele's are even better:

Jeydra, this is skewing it.
First, by having to take a BiP necromancer, because your energy management is severely lacking, you subtract your potential damage dealers by one.
More than that, you still do less damage, and more clumsily. First of all, you rely on a ward. Second, your spells cast half as fast. Third, you can't start off your chain by pre-casting Arcane - Echo - X because you need to preparate the target with a hex. This means, in the time-honored Elementalist tradition, that you first use your preparing hex (say, Mind Wrack), and then you spend a full 4.5 seconds before you get started.
The mesmer, on comparison, simply throws up Mind Wrack, does the Arcane Echo in only 1 second, and has executed his first spike in only 2 seconds. This is a huge difference, not to mention, he A: Does not use a comparably weak elite, B: Does not need a second PvE skill simply to augment said elite, and C: Will have runes available to augment the hard damage from the non-PvE skills.

Why would anyone dumb themselves down by playing Cry ele outside DoA and farming is beyond me. There are many, many, many, many wonderful skills in Air Magic line.

I'll grant that I've never really played with Cryway until recently, and I'm not convinced.
Properly executed Cryway has essentially no difference between the different professions. You don't need the Ward since if, after three rounds of Cry of Pain, the monsters aren't dead yet then something has seriously gone wrong. You don't need BiP either since you have 14 Energy Storage and monsters really should die before you run out of energy. You don't need a Mesmer hex because you've got a real Mesmer with VoR (or something) to apply it for you. You can pre-cast Arcane Echo on Echo, which means you only need to Cry of Pain -> Echo -> Cry of Pain x2. With 3 copies of Cry of Pain there's a good chance a HSR mod will trigger too.
Actually to be honest I think Assassin's Promise is even a bit weaker, since by the time the first monster dies the rest are already almost dead, and not to mention monsters blow up so fast you might not be able to finish casting AP, although I've never tried it.

No idea. But MegaVolti did make a blanket statement claiming that it is impossible to equal the damage of the build he posted, and I don't like that statement.

Am i the only one who realise's that this is the elementalist Thread, not the mesmer one?
And sure, there build's arent that great, but what we should really be doing is helping them, saying how to improve the build, rather than saying re-roll as a mesmer, because they are superior cryers, its not about mesmers, its about ele's,
Also, i will agree with most, ele's damge goes from nice pretty numbers in NM to rather crappy numbers in HM, but its in HM where a ele's support skills shine through, that isnt to say though that they deal crappy damage, they're just better suited to blinding, KD's, cracked armour etc.
