Hi, just recently started PvPing, decided to make a spiker, if you could give me your opinions/suggestions on this spiker build it would be appreciated.

E/Me
Air Magic - 12+1+2
Inspiration - 10
Energy Storage - 9

Lightning Strike, Whirlwind (optional) , Power Drain, Ether Signet (optional), Lightning Orb, Lightning Surge, Arcane Echo, Glyph of Lesser Energy

Basic Strategy : If you want to start of spiking a target, put GoLE, cast Arcane Echo then Lightning Surge. Then cast Lightning Orb. The dmgs from LS and LO will come together at the same time causing a 200 dmg spike (-armor/etc). Keep casting LS + LO. When low on energy cast Power Drain on an enemy or spam a little Lightning Strike until you can cast Ether Signet. Cast LS for general spamming when your on CD's, and Whirlwind if melee get too close.

I use a AM + 2 -35 rune because I don't have a AM + 1 unlocked.
Other equips is +50 rune, +10 Phys. Dam insigs, ES + 1 and Vitae Runes.

Any skill swaps/suggestions are always welcome, just planning to start PvPing.

P.S. I only own Proph/Factions atm, I'm planning on getting NF + EoTN so skill suggestions from those games are also welcome

I used to use that. It's decent if you target someone who is about half health.

But Ride the Lightning Spike is better. I suggest capping that.

GoLE - Arcane Echo - RTL - Shock - RTL - Whirlwind. Then something like enerverating charge or lightning javeline.

NOTE: You will be rendered useless eventually because of exhaustion after a few RTLs and Shocks but it's a better spike.

This build is not bad for a beginning PvPer. Yes, at some point you may want that +1 air magic rune, but for now the +2 is fine. In PvP you want at least 600 health because sometimes people won't carry a rez (depends on what PvP you're doing); you'll be automatically rezzed at a shrine or something. I suggest using Survivor Insignia's for more health.

As for the build, put Air Attunement in their somewhere so you gain health and energy each time you cast an Air Magic spell. So therefore you don't really need Power Drain or Ether Signet. Dervish may be a good secondary choice when you get Nightfall because of Mystic Regeneration. So I'd say something like....

Aura of Restoration, Air Attunement, Lightning Strike, Lightning Orb, Lightning Surge, Enervating Charge, Arcane Echo or Lightning Hammer, Shock Arrow or Arc Lightning

Weapons: A shield with +30 health with vs. slashing or reduction of daze and a caster weapon (axe, sword, or spear) with +5 energy and +20% longer enchantments. Then a 40/40 air magic set (wand and offhand both with 20% chance of casting time and skill recharge).

If you're going to be in Air Magic, you should bring some blind to help out the team also. Instead of focusing on spikes so much, your build should have more utility to help the team.
