E/A AP sin spam: an ele build?
Is the Ele really *the* profession for it?
You have a bigger energy pool for the spam + glyph of lesser energy which is in your primary attribute, lightning orb to proc the sin.
Necros: Soul reaping abuse, Barbs/Mark of Pain, Rigor Mortis, Rip/Strip enchant to make monks fall faster
Mesmers: Arcane Echo, fast casting on 1 second spell, enchant removal
Assassins: Haven't seen it, critical strikes doesn't help at all, Deadly arts rune
Dervishes: No benefit from primary attribute
Rits: don't use sin spam
Rangers, Paragons, Warriors: no energy for it
Monks: if you use it on a monk... it means you're H/Hing or something.

No, it's not. Necro with soul reaping *and* AoE triggering from the sin has the lead here by far, with mesmer in second place for either echoing sins or dropping chaos storms. Lorb is crap by comparison and glyph slows you down.
And in monks defense there are some very useful prot skills you can put on an APer. You won't have the energy to spam constant offense, but a sin here and there doesn't hurt while perma maintaining aegis and selfless spirit.

I think that the other relevant question to be asking is whether there is a build available for eles that can pump out damage faster than AP sin spam. If not, then despite the fact that arguably a mesmer or nec can do it better, it's still the best build for eles.
Personally i find the earth variant nice (earth attunement, gole, churning earth, eruption) because it gives you something that the other professions don't get which is aoe blind and KD. You trade off your ability to spike down a target faster for some utility, which allows you to distinguish yourself from a necro or mesmer.

I find Mesmer 10x due to the echo's, get 7 vanguard chucking mesmers and 1 heal and you got yourself a formula for victory. Nothing says LOLWTFOMG like 30+ Assassins wondering around a group of dead bodies.

I didn't ask if it's the best build for eles. It only takes 70 damage to be better than any ele build without orb. I asked if people think it's an ele build, like the ER ele is an ele build since it uses 1 ele skill that is in the primary attribute. Oath shot spirit spam R/Rt is an older analogy. It only used oath shot.

Depends on how you define 'ele build'.
The fact that it may be inferior does not detract from the fact that it uses more ele skills (one sin, 3 pve, 4 ele) than any other skills (which is one basis for judging how 'ele' a build is).

If you use AP only as e-management and recharge, filling the rest of your skillbar as usual, then we can call it an "ele build"...surely not if AP is used only to cast multiple EVAS, cause every profession could do it (also if the ele's large energy pool helps).

While i wouldnt really call the builds that eles run a "sinspam", a build using AP is definitely the eles best build atm, excluding areas like BLA where the mob count is so huge that you can drop random fire nukes and vastly outdamage it.

I think it's an Elementalist build. It's Elementalist primary, and there's noticeable differences between different primary professions.

Why should be AP+3PvE Skills be an elementalist build? It's generic enough so that every class can play it (the more base energy regen the better). It's like SoS - any X/Rt can play it.
That said, EVAS is nearly always on my bar.
