I think its and improvement, smarter monsters = better pve, more of a challenge. I also like the the fact that ppl like Vekpos there will now have to play the game the way it was intended. And for the record i dont have any trouble killin grps with the dervish.

I have noticed the scattering effect on my dervish, but tbh I dont really see that as a problem. As a matter of fact it works in the dervish favor if anything.
The people complaining about this, is the same people who plays an assassin as a tank. A dervish is NOT supposed to be a tank, just like sin isnt supposed to be a tank. Its a NEW proff, with NEW tactics.
In regards to the AoE spells, just learn to time better. I basically time it exactly as I would time Zealots Fire, and have had zero problems in the regard.

looks like up to 3 mobs will stay under the AoE effects, the rest will scatter
let us see how it goes further ingame when the groups are bigged...

If this fix stays in, I think that when the dust settles, the Dervish will rise to the top as the best farming class in the game. Here's why.
When mobs realize you are AoEing, they stick around for a little while until they hit about 60-50% health. They all but 3 of them run off and heal. From that point on, you are always fighting 3 enemies at a time, while the others are just sitting there staring at you. This works out perfectly in favor of a Dervish. All the enemies sit there staring at you while you quickly dispatch 3 of their friends, then three more run in to try to take you out and you kill them just as quickly. Repeat until all mobs dead.
Here's why the dervish is so good at this: All other classes can either hit all mobs with an AoE or 1 mob with a single target attack. The Dervish is unique in its ability to consistently hit three mobs at a time. Therefore, the Dervish will farm things 3 times faster than any class focusing on single targets to get around the AoE limitations. Classes focusing on AoE have to find spawns of 3-4 creatures and kill them, then move to the next. Dervishes, on the other hand, can exploit the AoE AI at the beginning of a fight and all the old AoE places (trolls, minos, etc.) will react exactly as a Dervish needs them to.

I have yet to see the scatter effect from dervish scythe attacks just like I have yet to see them scatter from barrage. I just don't think the definition of AoE applies to melee attacks period. I could be wrong. I use hundred blades on my warrior and have yet to see a scatter even when the new AI conditions are met. Basically I have yet to see them scatter on a multiple hit weapon attack.

Ok, even if mobs would scatter (which they apparently are not as far as I'm conserned) the Devrish would ot have been nerfed. One would simpply have to reconsider the Devrish's role in combat. Perhaps they were not ment to run head in and slay huge mobs. They could be used as a powerful midle-line character punishing anyone who goes for your casters or monks hard.
Just for your consideration before you start shouting about things being nerfed without being sure what the original (perhaps not obvious) purpose of the character is.

Lord Lucifer, first it's not that bad, I just made a derv last night and was throughly raping mobs of two or three, they didn't scatter. T'isnt as bad as you think, and from reading the update, in my mind Fire Eles are better off now. Now the mobs dont ALWAYS scatter. There are certain conditions where nukers can completely wipe a mob.

lol I meant more like catching them when they are at half health or lower, or using echo nuking to spread showers to the point where they will get caught in them.

well ele farmers got killed by this nerf... I should know I am one! I invincementalist my way through minos in elona's reach.. but not anymore! Ever since they all run from my aoe spells with like 60% health remaining and regen. So now I need another way to make money...
this is really starting to bust my buttons Anet!
first you take away my only form of money (which was at the time, farming the grotto chest). And force me to learn farming
Now you nerf my farming! how do i make money now!?

Do your Creationist brethren a favor and learn what science is about (here's a hint, science does not prove, it falsifies) so you don't end up pulling a Kent Hovind and completely embarass the Creationist position.
Now back on topic. So far, I just completely devastate the mobs I encounter before they really get a chance to run. Although it helps that I have the preorder scythe.

Falsification is elimination and via elimination, science may show evidence greatly weighing to one side. It therefore can "prove."
This new update hurt my ele too, there is little he can do now besides solo green farm which is much less consistant than mob farming. I think all classes have been hurt in some way by it, ANet wanted to make GW a little harder requiring more teamwork and thinking.

only problem is.. farming is not abt teamwork when you share the same drops with your whole huge party >.<
and 15k armors wont come from normal teamwork PvE play..just not gonna happen! it wasnt "easy" to get 15k armors before, just not a painful process..
but nvm that, its another topic, besides farming isnt dead...yet, at least not UW, wich is why i moved to europe, to farm that krap all day long >.<

All of those theories are valid, its just Darwinism that has alot of untied lose ends. Give me ONE VALID example of marco-evolution to the level where a creature goes from a ape to a man? Hmmm, I'd like to hear it. Science is a wonderful thing, until you go outside of science and it just becomes politics and "whos right" over the truth( oh yes I said it) and the facts. I don't wish to further post on this topic.
I agree with the fact that Dervish's can't be nerfed yet, as what we saw was in the BETA test.

First off, you just goal post shifted. You first claim it's invalid because it's a "theory." All those other things are "theories" as well. Actually they all have untied lose ends. In fact, everything in science has untied lose ends. That's sort of the point, and it's not the role of science to tie them up. Again, read up on the philosophy of science.
Also, if we actually had examples of apes becoming men, that would disprove evolution. That's the problem with Creationists. Their misunderstanding of evolution causes them to ask for more than what evolution actually states, in other words, they want what is basically hyperevolution. Well of course, we don't believe in that either. Oddly enough, for a global flood to be possible, Creationists actually have to believe in this sort of hyperevolution to get the speciations we have today within a mere 4000 years. Yet they won't accept the real deal. It truly boggles the mind.
Now, if you want some examples of real evolution that has occurred, try http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-speciation.html.
If you want to continue this, PM me and we can talk further.
Now that I think of it, the reason the mobs are being devastated is more because of my MM Hero.
