Default Simply Tyrian dervish farmer

Been playing around with farming Tyria with a dervish since I finally got around to hitting the desert. I didn't see this build on the first few pages when I looked or with the search string I used, but it is kinda like the standard Eviscerate warrior build. I bet lots of people are using something very similar and it is easy/cheap to use, might as well have a post on it though so I do not expect this to be earth shattering or anything. The Eviscerate warrior is still popular.

Class: Dervish/mo

Attrbiutes:

scythe: 14 - sup scythe and+scythe hood
Earth 10 - minor earth prayers
mysticism 10 - minor mysticism
heal - 8

Equipment:

Windwalker insignias all around
Eshekibeh's scythe: +15% while enchanted, vampiric 5/-1, health +30

Skills:

Reapers Sweep[e], Lyssa's Assault, Heart of Fury, Conviction, Mystic Vigor, Mystic Regeneration, Faithful Intervention, Mending

Usage:

Once I exit the outpost I immediately cast mending and then Faithful Intervention (in that order I typically do not worry too much about enchant stripping as it still leaves mending). I then go aggro the first group of monsters I want to kill and cast Mystic Regeneration and Conviction. Once they close into melee range with me I back up to bunch them together for the scythe attacks (OTOH if I am fighting ranged attackers I let them hit their attack range and slowly back up to do the same thing). I then cast Mystic Vigor and Heart of Fury and mostly just let the scythe attack making sure I always keep Mystic Regeneration and Mystic Vigor up at all times, the rest I cast if I have enough energy, just make sure you always have enough when Mystic Regeneration is going to end. Lyssa's assault is pretty much a "free" cast if you have ten energy (its cost), once the attack completes (no matter if you hit or not) you get 11 energy back at 14 scythe. Reapers sweep causes a deep wound on foes less than 50% and that can end fights pretty quick - especially all three mobs are below 50%.

Changes:

Well, first off mending isn't really needed so you can pretty much use any secondary. The two mystic spells are what are keeping you alive. The Vampiric scythe isn't really needed either but the +5 health and the unconditional +5 damage is nice. I've found an Ele or Warrior secondary works well replacing mending with Wild Blow so you always critical or using the ele conjure enchants if you use elemental damage. So far I've haven't found a secondary that isn't effective with this. The /mo is just the most brain dead of the bunch to use.

If I know I'm going to get a lot of enchant strips I replace Faithful Intervention Vital Boon and make sure it is the cover enchant. It's cheap enough that you can almost always keep it up for Mystic Regeneration also. I do not like the forms more because of the 120 second recharge and sitting around waiting on them.

Snd, lastly, the elite. I will sometimes use Avatar of Melandru if I am facing enemies that spam conditions (especially blind). Avatar of Balthazar is great if I need a running skill to get through some enemies. Reaper's sweep isn't that much damage - most of it just comes from you plain scythe's attack so pretty much anything works. I do not have an ebon snathe yet but I suspect that Ebon Dust Aura would be very very good if you did (while I could use Dust Cloak for earth damage I hate using two skill slots - I think I'm better off not).

The windwalkers insignias are not really needed either but +15 armor doesn't hurt. I do not have an issue with energy as they are almost all cheap so this seemed the best to me, though if switching out for Avatar of Melandru or using a different skill set from a secondary the +energy may be needed.

What I've done so far:

Griffons, rockshots, sand drakes, ettins, sand giants, tengu, and some others I can not think of right off the bat. I know I have solo'd a good part of Maguuma Jungle as I took on 8 jungle trolls and stayed at full health the whole time. I have not cleared the desert yet so haven't tried it with Trolls outside of Droks.

One of the things I've liked about this build is on Griffon runs is that I can pretty much take on everything around. The Rockshots can not interrupt the vast majority of those skills (absolutely none of the required ones), you out heal the touches of the sand giants, and the others just never even stand a chance.

Well, if this has been posted, sorry I didn't see it and the search phrase I used didn't find it. Maybe someone else will see this one later and not post it again. I'm not sure if this is "good" but I can farm while watching TV or eating (in other words, not really paying attention) in some areas I've always had to actually watch the game. Use it, make fun of it, whatever I hope someone finds it useful.

Me and a friend of mine run a similar build to this to farm all over Grats on unlocking the potential of those skills - it's amazing.

I also do two-man farms using those skills. Can anyone say uber bonder?

Assuming my bonder uses: Life Barrier, Life Bond, Vital Blessing, Balthazar's Spirit, Retribution, Strength of Honor

That's 6 enchantments. Plus my three. 9. 9x4 (4 regeneration at 12 Mysticism (I think). 36 regen. GG degenerations, GG mobs. You might find DAMAGE a problem though lol. Cause you can tank a LOT..just don't try enchant removal, unless yer brave =)

By the way, Ebon Dust Aura is easily the best skill for smacking the crap out of paragon/assassin/warrior mobs

I've seen quite a few builds posted that are just a warrior build pushed onto a dervish and I do not really know why. So I figured I would post it.

My regular PvE build isn't much different (different weapon, rez instead of mending, and I normally replace Mystic vigor as I can not get enemies to group up enough). I figured if I could tank the stuff in the Realm of Torment I ought to be able to solo some Tyrian guys

I did quite a bit of the same thing during the green drop weekend, though I used a bonder hero. Not quite as good as with another human, but still fairly effective overall.

I hate Chilblains - I really do. The other enchant strips take four to five mobs to strip them fast enough (well, the mobs in Tyria that is). Chilblains totally shuts me down with two casters, one puts a real hurting on me. I also left the Losaru alone - backfire and diversion and a general lack of good hex removal (Avatar of Dwayna can't keep up with it) makes them rough. Most other hexes I can pretty much ignore, but with how often I'm putting enchant spells up 150+damage and around 40 second recharge for heals hurts big time too.

Actually, my dervish tends to pretty much stay away from mesmers and necros in general, though pretty much everyone else seems to be fair game

I suspected as much, as soon as I finally find an ebon snathe I'm going there. It was one of those skills I read and went "Wow".

I finally had the fool thing drop today, been trying for a bit (and yes, I know to send the henchies away). At this rate I expected the ebon upgrade first - I've found quite a few icy and fiery snathes.

So, found out that the Sand Giants have one of the "plague" skills that transfers their conditions to target (me) so it didn't help there. Been great in group PvE and a few farming areas though.

Also, looking for a 5e short recharge scythe skill to cause the blinding I noticed Victorious Sweep - if the target has less health than you you gain +77 health *per enemy* that meets that requirement at scythe mastery of 14. With a four second recharge and three enemies that is 57 health per second gained. It takes a swing or two to get them lower than you, but once there pretty much at full health. Sand giants suddenly became MUCH easier even with their touch life steals.

I had ignored it before because I was looking for group skills - I do not see a great use in PvE for it because I'm gaining health when I do not really need it (I need that health when I'm low, not at full health). However, for farming it's been great at keeping my health at max. I still prefer lyssa's assault for groups, but this one rocks in farming.
