PVE Elementalist/Dervish
I'm currently playing the dervish secondary, simply for Air/Wind combinations since my toon is named Thundr Storm. Later I may go ranger or something, but I want to do air in a PVE environment. Is there a viable build for this? I know it would be a single target nuker for the most part, but any suggestions that you have would be greatly appreciated.
Current build works ok but not great.
[skill]air attunement[/skill][skill]lightning orb[/skill][skill]invoke lightning[/skill][skill]lightning strike[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]Featherfoot Grace[/skill][skill]natural healing[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Now I don't know if I should drop res signet, I often find myself running off and coming back to res my silly henchmen/hero's. The damage isn't bad, and the small healing is nice.
I usually throw all into air, 10 into energy storage, rest into wind.
Any suggestions? Other than to go and build the invincible dervish combo I read about earlier. Am looking to stick with Air, not necessarily keeping the dervish but it works pretty good so far.
I also thought of going Air/Water and using that to support the roleplaying, then I could take monk as a secondary for a hard res for those sticky situations.

Hmm...I play Air in PvE most of the time. INVOKE LIGHTNING FTW!!
My Build is:
[skill]Air Attunement[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Chain Lightning[/skill][skill]Lightning Strike[/skill][skill]Enervating Charge[/skill][skill]Lightning Orb[/skill][skill]Invoke Lightning[/skill]
Not too dissimilar to yours. Not sure about Featherfoot Grace...unless you're specifically using it for the condition reduction I'd use Storm Djinn's Haste instead. Oh...I never take res when I'm an ele...there is just not enough room on my skillbar plus I HATE HATE HATE Resurrection Signet...it's a one-hit wonder. I take the stance that if you're entire team needs ressing and you're the only one alive with Resurrection Signet...the team is crap and you should start again with henchmen. I guess that looks like a nice self heal...I get a little healing from Aura of Restoration although it's main use is to cover Air Attunement. If you were taking those 2 Dervish skills with yours I wouldn't take Aura of Restoration as well...maybe take Blinding Flash or another damage dealing skill.
Question: Do you only have Nightfall or so you have access to skills from other campaigns?

I'd drop Natural Healing for Dwayna's Touch.
Otherwise, it seems fine.

the invcinci ele/derv. pretty much sucks. his strategy is to stand there. and take damage, while throwing up a sandstorm, it is incredibly boring and pretty damn pointless, u have warriors if u wanna take damage.i almost never use a secondary profession on my ele unless i'm pvping. ele is very self-sufficent in pve.

I have all three campaigns, so can get skills from any of them. Maybe I should redesign as ele/x and simply go from there does seem like a good idea.

Doesn't look like a bad build the way you got it. I've only found that Air seems to need more damage skills to keep up with the cadence of air spiking. In yours, I'd probably drop the Natural Healing since you already have a self heal in Aura and a nice kiting skill. I also share Beaver's thoughts on bringing a rez. Just seems like Ele's need all of their skill slots to be the most effective at what we do in PVE, that is, dealing damage til stuff falls down. Take out those two and work maybe [skill]Enervating Charge[/skill] and [skill]Lightning Bolt[/skill]. GG!!

Personally dual attunement is always a solid choice for any elementalist. I use a build similar to this one.
