not alot of energy but you get 4 pips, considering it is a melee class that is pretty good. Get a zealous scythe and energy problems disappear most of the time.
70AC is max, but note that you also get +25 health and if you use a windwalkers insignia you get +15 armor for having 3 enchants on, and if you use Conviction you get an additional +24 armor while enchanted. 109 AL total, not too bad.

I like Brawler's insignia on my dervish chest and legs for the +10 armor while attacking. I like to break my enchants often for the aoe effects and the energy regained so I don't like windwalker as much.
to the op: you can go with radiant insignias if you really want that energy boost or 1 or 2 of the attunement runes. But with a decent mysticism attribute and a good cycle of enchants you really shouldn't run into much energy trouble.

Another option is going D/E and bringing Glyph of lesser energy with you. I usually put up my glyph before entering combat, and it helps out a lot. Along with Mysticism, you should be ok energy wise.

I got a suggestion for you. The chest and legs have the most chance of being hit than any other location (I think its like 30% each). They each have the same chance of being hit though. But Radiant Insignia adds 3 energy to chest, two to legs, and 1 to everywhere else. Use Radiant on the Chest. then use Windwalker on the legs. This is a good tradeoff between energy and armor. (this is for a a scythe user using long lasting enchants like watchful / faithful intervention. "Mage-dervs" that focus on AOE attacks and mystic sandstorm dont get as much benefit from Windwalker)
There is a +10 armor when enchanted insignia. That might actually be better on most locations as you probably will always have 1 enchant up but often will fluctuate between 2 and 4 enchants. I put that insignia everywhere else. And that insignia is cheaper than windwalker.
And I use one of those +2 attunement energy runes. That pushes my energy to 30. So even with death penalty, I can go into a form. Only problem with that is that is leaves only 4 slots for other runes. 1 slot = Vigor rune (waiting for superior). 1 slot = Scythe Superior. 1 slot = Mysticism rune. 1 slot = Earth rune.
Here is another suggestion. It is a common sense suggestion that probably everyone already does, but I am just pointing it out here. Get an extra shoe or glove armor piece. Put a different rune on it. For example, I always try to have Mystisism high no matter what my build it. In general, I switch my builds between Wind builds and Earth builds. So I have a +1 wind glove and a +1 earth glove that I swap depending on the build.
BTW, for me, its not really about having enough energy during the battle...like other posters said, Zealous mod and Mysticism are probably enough for typical energy management. And you can also use the skill Zealous Renewal (especially if you use Heart of Fury and spam Mystic Sweep). The issue is at the start of combat its nice to put on two enchants and still have enough energy to immeadiatly use Chilling Victory.

hehe. I hate to burst your bubble, but Vabbi armor is WAY more expensive then Primeval. Take into account the amount of Rubies and Sapphires you need for a full Vabbi armor set, then let my know which is more expensive.
As someone already said, all class Vabbi armor is made to be expensive. In fact, i believe it is the second most expensive armor in the game, 2nd only to FoW armor.
cheers!

If you don't have enough energy, then your problem is:
A) your build
or
B) your usage of your build
Armor is not to blame for energy problems.

I don't think the OP said he had energy problems, he just noted the fact that Dervish armor doesn't have much on its own.

All armor prices are the same(that is the crafter charges the same amount regardless of profession), granted the materials will differ but Vabbian is one of the more pricy in materials, second only to FoW armor.
To the OP. Energy on the armor is no longer dependent on armor stats. With the introduction of insignias you can set +energy mods on whatever armor you want. I can have Primeval warrior armor with the same +energy mods as gladiator armor from prophecies.
