dervish hero help
Hey, well I have my dervish hero but know very little about the dervish class. Are there any skills in particular that the heroes use well, any that the AI isn't smart enough to use that well? (because for the most part i'll leave him be). also, I don't have any elites for dervs yet, are there one or two essential elites i should have for my derv hero? Thanks!

OK, thanks. I just figure that most good dervishes have good enchantment management, and I'm not sure how well the heroes use them, but I'll get those skills. Any advice on an elite to go along with those?

Mine only seems to use Mystic Regen when it's too late or to counter health degen - never found it too good especially from the desolation on. Mystic Regen is great to keep your health where it is at when you have a lot of enemies on you, not too useful if it is only cast at 1/2 or 1/4 health. While she uses conviction properly I found she lives longer if I replace Mystic Regen and Conviction with Armor of Sanctity and Veil of Thorns - both of which she tries to keep up as long as possible. I've never payed that much attention if she keeps Mystic Vigor up or not, but I usually put it there.
Unless I control when the Dervish Forms are cast I found they tried to keep them up all the time - nothing like having the cast when the last enemy is at 1/4 health and it ends just as you engage the next group so I leave them off. That leaves few elites. Ebon Dust Aura does well, they spam it and try and blind everything in sight if you have an ebon scythe and they use Reaper's Sweep just like a normal damage (they do not wait until half health - though it's not a bad +damage skill in and of itself). Ebon Dust Aura works well with Armor of Sanctity also.
And, lastly, I usually run her as a /w with Wild Blow simply to knock stances down. Since she isn't adrenaline based it works quite well and crits with a scythe are pretty nice. Depending on the rest of the group she sometimes is a /p spamming "Go for the Eyes" instead - the scythe can build adrenaline for the shout quite quickly - but I really only use that if I take a paragon that uses skills that trigger when a shout starts or ends.

The only really useful build for a D hero I found was Sandstorm Nuke, but I'm sure you could make it a tank with /E and Stoneflesh Aura etc etc.
