D/R - Rampaged Dervish
Hi there. Allow me to advise you a nasty build for D/R.
Build profession=Dervish/Ranger
Name="Rampaged Dervish"
Attributes:
Earth prayers=11+3+1
Marksmanship=12
Beast mastery=6
Skills (discription with those attributes):
1. Favorable Winds
Nature Ritual. Create a level 8 Spirit. For non-Spirit creatures within its range, arrows move twice as fast and strike for +6 damage. This Spirit dies after 126 seconds.
Energy: 5 - Activation time: 5 - Recharge time: 60
2. Read the Wind
Preparation. For 24 seconds, your arrows move twice as fast and deal 9 extra damage.
Energy: 5 - Activation time: 2 - Recharge time: 12
3. Vow of Strength
Enchantment Spell. For 10 seconds, you cannot use attack Skills and your attacks deal 50% more damage.
Energy: 5 - Activation time: 0.25 - Recharge time: 10
4. Heket's Rampage
Stance. For 7 seconds, you attack 33% faster. This Stance ends if you use an attack Skill.
Energy: 5 - Activation time: 0 - Recharge time: 10
5. Mystic Regeneration
Enchantment Spell. For 20 seconds, you have +4 Health regeneration for each Enchantment on you.
Energy: 10 - Activation time: 0.25 - Recharge time: 5
6. Vital Boon
Enchantment Spell. For 20 seconds, you have +100 maximum Health. When this Enchantment ends, you are healed for 200 Health.
Energy: 5 - Activation time: 1 - Recharge time: 8
7. Signet of Pious Light
Signet. Lose 1 Enchantment. Target ally is healed for 120 Health. If an Enchantment was removed in this way, this Signet recharges immediately.
Energy: 0 - Activation time: 1 - Recharge time: 20
8. Resurrection Signet
Weapon: Longbow and shortbow 15-28, +15% dmg ^50%, Armor penetration 20%/20%, Enchantments last 20% longer.
So... you have +15 dmg per attack, your attacks hit for 50% more dmg, your attack speed increased by 33% (actualy by 50% acording to gwwiki) and you have ultimate self heals like Mystic Regeneration and Vital Boon. And you can heal your mates by Signet of Pious Light. Enjoy!
PS. Sorry for my english...

Nice damage you may want to add a pet just for fun and more dmg output and take away vital boon only because not sure if you will need it since you have mystic regeneration going and you are ranged.

There are 2 problems with this build in my mind:
1/ The base damage of rangers is not that good. They don't have a high DPS, and when they go as damage dealers, it's thanks to preparations or attack skills with a high damage bonus. In this build you use Voe of Strength to increase the damage, but vs foes with a high armor (most of them in higher areas) +50% of not much is still not much.
2/ Sorry to say that, but with this build a ranger would do better. You don't use your primary attribute and the only reason to have D as a primary here is to have 16 earth prayer for VoS. With 12 you have +41% damage, less then, but increasing your marksmanship will do better (and that would be +41% of more base damage anyway).

I agree with Sir Mad VoS works best with a scythe dervish better than a ranged dervish. Heck the damage potential of a scythe far out weigths the damage you do with a bow.

If I remember correctly, Strength of Honor adds to base weapon damage, therefor allowing for more then its listed damage bonus when used with high scythe mastery.
Its been over a year since Ive tested it, so no guarantees.
I agree that a D/R using Heket's Rampage and Vow of Strength would be superior to a bow user, due in part to the aoe effect (though the idea of adding RtW and FW onto VoStrength is appealing).

I think for a Dervish Strength of Honor is a wasted skill slot. Judges Insight stacks better with VoS.

Hi i'm a D/R and i was playing nightfall and as i got towards the end ( after going through the portal ) i realised my build wasn't good enough so i started using this build and i don't know why you guys arn't giving this guy enough credit it's great you probably didn't even try it because it is great for any situation in the realm of torment, i spent two hours with my mate ( a ritualist ) farming we made well over 30k each and then we decided to do gate of madness mission and finished it in half an hour without dying ( bonus and all ).
So great build mate helped me out alot.
