Edit: huh, and now it's treating my comment as the original post.. x_X well, w/e. here's what I had originaly said:
Okay...Honestly, I think my build sucks. So, I'm coming to you smart and wise Gurus for help. XD
My current build is: D/mo (with no monk skills. ...I honestly have no idea what second to have since I only use Dervish skills)
Weapon:
Hand of the Forgotten. (also, all my armor has the "radiant" inscription except for the head. The one on it gives +5 armor for the enchantments on me. I figured the extra 5-15 armor would do me more good than 1 extra energy)
Skills:
heart of Fury,
Pious Assault,
Twin moon sweep,
Chilling Victory,
Mystic Regeneration,
Wounding Strike (E),
Heart of Holy Flame,
Zealous Renewal.
Attributes are: 14 scythe mastery, 12 mysticism and 3 earth prayers.
How I use the build: Run into a group of monsters and activate Zealous Renewal, Heart of holy flame, then depending on how much dmg I've taken I'll either activate heart of Fury OR Mystic regeneration. I use twin moon sweep to help increase the ammount of energy I get back from Zealous renewal..though I'm honestly planning to replace it; the little extra energy is not worth the lose of a good damage or healing/protection skill in my opinion.
ANYWAYS, if I end up using mystic regeneration instead of heart of fury, then I usualy have to wait untill my energy charges up a bit more so I can use heart of fury and then either Pious or Twin moon sweep.
...I've found that in hard mode, this build REALLY sucks. x_x I'm trying to do the "Valley of Rifts" quest (requires Goren) and I'm traveling from "Chantry of Secrets" and my butt has been beaten 6-7 times now. x_x
I don't care if somebody suggests a whole new build, I just want to be able to survive and actualy be able to KILL something. >.<;;
So...either help me refine this build, or suggest a new one. I was thinking of using those new PVE only skills along with the one Avatar that increases damage and energy (+10 extra energy means more skills I could use, and with the sunspear PVE skill, I could keep the avatar up almost all the time.) but I'd have no idea what to take out for it, what to leave in. x.x;;
...Okay, I've rambled on too much, sorry. ^_^; I'll put basicly:
SOMEBODY SUGGEST A BUILD THAT I CAN USE IN HARD MODE AND ACTUALY SURVIVE/DO DAMAGE WITH! PLEASE!!
I have 100k in my storage to use towards skills or runes that I may need, so feel free to suggest something really expensive. xD Just not TOO expensive as I NEVER farm, so all this money is what I've gathered from picking up loot/selling loot ever since GW was released.

Sod a res... whats the point, if something goes wrong, most likely you'll be the 1 dead.
If you want Conviction... swap out the 3rd skill, no real need to change stats.
Personally i don't see the point. All protection you want is in the hands of your monk, pre-protting you before a mob. And your Windwalkers Insignia. A base armour of 90 isn't too bad. Especially if 1 of your heroes is a Strength of Honour/Judges Insight Prot monk. My record still stands at about 600 on a HM monk boss.... although it was undead, casting a skill
Can easily draw attention away from yourself with minions.

Evilsod: I pretty much only play with heros/henchmen...so could you tell me the skills needed for that type of monk? x_x
Also, should I use any viger/+hp runes to make up for the scythe/mysticism runes that I'll be using?

Ideally you can use 2 Vitae and your Vig rune since you only need Scythe and Mysticism... but my armour isn't fine tuned enough.

You can get it from your guild hall if you have r1.
I gave Reapers Sweep another go earlier... its extremely overrated. The simple fact enemies die before it can recharge means your basically left with using it as a finisher... or you waste the Deep Wound part. If you use it over 50%, you might aswell have used Victorious Sweep, if you use it below, the hit sometimes kills them anyway. Its really not worth the slot...

Kay, I'll give that a try!
I've actualy noticed that myself. It seems to either be the finishing move if the enemy's hp is below 50%, or just as strong as Victorious Sweep if above 50%.

Ace, I have the same issue as you, the solution is simple hey... Do a bit of PvP and get balth faction, then unlock the skill at the Priest of Balth and go to Tohn in Kamadan and buy the skill, or use a dervish tome to aquire it...
Sod, I use a very similar build to that one, I put VS in place of where you have Lyssa's assault tho. I also use heart of fury for IAS and the sunspear skill that recharges everything... I can keep my IAS up perma as well as Lyssa... I think I want to swap out VS for Lyssa tho , cos I do have E problems when keeping IAS up perma...

PvE with heros and henches, PvE with 1 or 2 human players with heros and henches... I only bring a res if I get a really full team of human players... Also, melee chars tend to die first most of the time, I'd rather have a defensive skill in place of the res, maybe a self heal to ease the pressure from the monks...

Maybe its the fact your playing a melee character, who relies purely on enchantments for damage and additional armour... if somethings going wrong your a prime target for a snare, enemy AI loves snaring melee, so there goes your escape. If your enchantments get stripped/shattered you lose armour, in your case, all your self-heals go too.
Why exactly am i gonna waste a slot on a res when i'll probably be the 1 who ends up dead? You can still tank, even if your not set up for it... and things can go spectacularly wrong when everything suddenly decides to kill you.

QFT!
With only 8 slots available, I find a res a waste in PvE, My bars are always too full for them... and as melee you 9/10 die first...

you shouldnt be dieing before henchmen. ever. if the henchies can outlast you you need to rethink your build and playstyle. You gotta know when to bail, I cant count the number of times I've had to rebirth all my henchies.

If all of your henchmen/Heros are dying on a consistant basis, and you are frequently having to 'bail them out' with rebirth, I think you've a better reason to rethink your build/playstyle than being the only occasional death as the main Melee role in your group.
I'm not going to claim perfection or anything, but I've found one or two hard ressurection skills with my heros, and whatever it is the henchment bring is more than sufficient to cover my bases. It's quite rare that either of my ressurecting heros die, let alone both of them. But even if BOTH of them die, it's even rarer that I don't have a henchmen alive to help out.
As to the comment about knowing when to bail...
Wipes occur more often when you DO bail, dragging anything that you had engaged back into your backline rather than flagging your hero's away or just sticking it out.

^^ Agreed!!!
To each his own hey, I used to carry res all the time but then I realised that 7 slots for workable skills was just not enough. I benefit more from the 8th skill than from having res there... I'd take a quick self heal or a block skill over res any day!!!

EvilSod: Do you think I should stick with my current weapon,( http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hand_of_the_Forgotten ) Or try and get Dwayna's Grace? ( http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dwayna%27s_Grace )
They both have armor penetration, they both have +15% attack (though one is while I'm enchanted and the other is while my health is above 50%) but, the Dwayna's one makes my enchantments last longer (which I assume also counts for the ones the monk will cast on me?) which may help me more than the additional +30 HP.
