Dervish Solo Build
Hello,
Before I buy Nightfall, I am trying to plan out my dervish solo build. I have chosen several skills out and I'd like to run them by you.
WEAPON: Dwayna's Grace
ATTRIBUTES:
Scythe Mastery: 9 + 1
Mysticism: 9 + 1
Earth Prayers: 12 + 1 + 3
ARMOR:
Istani Armor with Windwalker insignia
SKILLS:
Mystic Regeneration
Armor of Sanctity
Veil of Thorns
Vital Boon
Mystic Sweep
Mystic Vigor
Avatar of Balthazar
Faithful Intervention
Heart of Fury
Conviction
What I need help with is determining which two skills to take out and possibly more for a second profession; and also see how I need to adapt this to be used to solo in FoW and UW. I was thinking rending aura for UW Smites.
USAGE:
Before entering combat activate Faithful Intervention. Immediately before entering cast all of the remaining enchantments and stances. Once in combat keep enchantments refreshed and use Mystic Sweep as main damage dealing skill. This Build receives 25 healths per hit as well as +20 health regeneration (Only can use 10 at a time), which can counter any set of conditions and keep the +10 regeneration. Comments and Criticism appreciated. Thanks.

there is a armor cap of 25, so balthazar + conviction=only 40 armor. Mysticism should be 9 or 12 because u get 1 energy for every 3 ranks so just hit a breakpoint(0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15).
Now I don't know for sure but is it possible to solo those areas with that build? Maybe a 130 hp build would be better.

Lack of firepower. For God's sake, dervishes aren't for tanking, standing and soaping damage only. And this build is known and used for running mainly.
Don't plan, improvise!

Okay, Well What do you mean there is an armor cap of 25? That doesn't make any sense. Also for firepower, I don't mind if it takes three weeks to kill enemies; Long as I live. By the way this is a solo build; therefore I need to tank. So What spells should I not keep?

actually, single skills can still go above 25 armor, so avatar of Balthazar would give +40 armor, but conviction wouldn't do anything.

Saying that dervishes are made for tanking is pure stupidity. Wait... hmm... does the scythe have 9-41 damage? Oh yeah, ANet would definitely give tanking class such weapon. And 70 basic armor, right ><
Good dervish should have ~4 skills for survival, 3 for attacks and 1 for rez. If you go solo u can increase amount of self-defense skills to 5-6 and go with 2-3 scythe attacks.
Making dervish a tank is just a waste of class' potential.

Oh k thanks nikki I wasn't too sure about that myself haha, and heres another point on tanking... You say that why would A-net give dervish's such a powerful weapon when there meant to be tanks? but.... why would A-net give such powerfull defensive skills if it's meant to be an offensive class???
You can't say this guy is silly or anything for making a dervish tank alot of people believe dervish tanks are better for things further into the game but seriously this just comes down to preferance some people might prefer tanking with dervishes and you can't say there wasting such a good profession because they're doing what they want to with it.
I say if tanking with a dervish works for you do it and if you prefer using a dervish as a spiker or just general melee damage dealer do it theres no right and wrong.

I don't NEED to solo UW or FoW, basically I mean to be able to solo some missions, quests, and to farm. I know I lack damage but Won't it just take a while? I'd rather be alive (Slowly but surely) Vs. Risking it. What skills should I use above, maybe with one more sycthe attack? (Ermites maybe?)

Okay Sorry. I will mainly use this build for Green farming. If I use victorious sweep; how does this build sound? Thanks.
EDIT: Is there point in using Armor of Sanctity and Veil of Thorns? I was thinking, Is -21 damage even that great?

Alright, What if I got rid of Faithful Intervention and as my elite I use Vow Of Strength? How would that be with a vampiric scythe? Anyways I really don't care how long it takes to kill the enemies, just as long as they die before me. If I use vow of strength maybe I can take out Mystic sweep as well and place something else there. Thoughts?

I'd say that the best solo dervish would be Dervish/Ele with:
Mystic Regeneration
Stoneflesh Aura
Armor of Sanctity
1 armor boost skill, you have a lot to choose from
1-2 enchantments that cause conditions when starting and/or ending
2-3 scythe attacks, mystic sweep and victorious sweep being 2 of the better options
elite, there are a lot of options, either a form, reaper's sweep, or whatever else you like...
