Could there be a solo UW dervish build with sand shards?
Using the current updates of skills right now, do you think there could be a solo UW build using sand shards? Or at least be able to kill the aatxes on your own?
I been thinking about this since I saw the D/A build and im sure other people did, but since shards was cut to scythe only attacks, i just imagine a pure dervish or something...
I would think you would want to use signet or midnight or something... i dunno... anyone have any ideas? or wait! maybe you dont even need sandshards... there are the earth skills that blind them too.. so you could do group blindings and cripple them... i dunno....
I heard about some bug where you use the stairs to your advantage in UW and the aatxes will only be able to attack you one at a time, thats kinda what i based this off of....
Lets hear your opinons! the people! oh and IMHO, mysticism was nerfed a bit too harshly in the HP part

personally i think not at least not very effectively, the advantage of sand shards is its aoe dmg yet if you use the stairs to fight one at a time you negate that advantage. it migth be possible but would be incredibly slow, the dmg is only around 20 afterall and youd need to hit multiple enemies to make that worthwhile.

Um. Don't have NF, and I'm not too sure about this theory, but how about using Sand Shards, Signet of Midnight and Epidemic? Thats 3 skills - not sure what would the rest would be, I haven't had a look at Dervish skills yet... Just a thought, but using that you could probably farm everything but the Cold Fires using this build. If it doesn't work, flame me all you like - I've done no research, so it doesn't bother me if it won't work.

I would say that the sand shards build would solo quite nicely "IF " you can find a way to blind all foes and quickly and constantly especially aatxes.
I do however think you could run a modified RT/ME solo build for smite runs with little problem dispite the recent AI update.
I am not rushed to finish the game but i will fine out later for myself.
Good luck.

ok well heres a starting idea to play off of.
D/Me
Ancestor's Visage-For 8...18 seconds, whenever target ally is hit by a melee attack, all adjacent foes lose all adrenaline and 3 energy.
Sympathetic Visage-For 8...18 seconds, whenever target ally is hit by a melee attack, all adjacent foes lose all adrenaline and 3 energy.
Illusionary Weaponry-For 30 seconds, you deal no damage in melee, but whenever you attack in melee, target foe takes 8...34 damage.
Physical Resistance-For 30...78 seconds, you gain +40 armor against physical damage, but you lose 24...14 armor against elemental damage.
Sand Shards-For 30 seconds, whenever you fail to hit with a Scythe Attack, all nearby foes take 5...21 damage.
Mystic Regeneration-For 20 seconds, you have +1...3 Health regeneration for each Enchantment on you. When this Enchantment ends, you lose 1 Enchantment.
Heart of Fury-For 5...17 seconds, you attack 33% faster. When this Enchantment ends, all nearby foes are set on fire for 1...3 seconds.
Mystic Vigor-For 20 seconds, every time you successfully hit with an attack, you gain 1...6 Health for each Enchantment on you (maximum 25 Health).
This is just a starting idea to play off of. toss in your ideas and concerns whatever comes to mind.

Im thinking that a dervish build with signet of midnight + sand shards +survival skills would be able to solo UW.

well talking about soloing the UW already with the dirvish is kinda of premature...you know within the month they are going to nerf like they always do. wait for them to make there move and then you have your chance to make yours...

i have already created a fow beach farming build using the dervish, i can currently farm everything to the spiders, minus the skales, at the spiders i can take down about 5 or 6 before i end up dying, a little more refining and i may post it, not sure im ready for it to be nerfed though =\

Ok, Iv'e been fooling around with this D/Me build for quite some time now and it has definatly been one of the most effective UW builds I have ever used so here it is....
I use Vahlens Vow for my weapon, and all Energy mods for armor
Earth: 13(+1)
Scythe Mastery: 12
Sand shards - Deals 21 damage to all ajacent enimies when you fail to hit
Signet of Midnight - blinds you and and enemy for 15secs
Vital Boon - +92 max hp, when it ends, heals you for 183 hp
Armor of Sanctacy - 18 less damage delt to you from foes suffering from conditions
Mystic Regeneration - +4 hp regeneration for every enchantment you have on you
Aura of Thorns - Cripples foe for 9 secs, foe suffers from bleading for 13 secs when Thorns ends
Twin Moon Sweep - Ends one enchantment, if enchantment ends you strike twice and gain 44 hp
Ressurection Signet - heals mate
Ok, i think you can already see how this works before you engage cast Mregen, then sand shards. atk your enemy with SoM RIGHT AWAY. then cast your two other defencive enchantments starting with Vital Boon, Armor of Sanctacy (that means +12 health regen) now time for the offencive... Cast Arura of Thorns, then Twin Moon Sweep. TMS will End AoT and cause the foe bleeding damage while you strike twice becasue of TMS... this causes Bleeding damage of 42 to all surrounding enimies. Make sure before you use this that you are still enchanted with sand shards or ur just blind... used correctly this build is very effective. I'll soon create a PvP version for it, though i dont think it will be much diffrent, i'll see what i can do. If you have questions contact me Xx Black Scythe Xx.
To all of you out there Happy Hunting ^_^.

...please don't try a PvP sand shards build. People don't pack up nicely for you in PvP. That and with the number of enemies you'll have it's more effective just to play it normally anyway - ~20 damage a hit isn't actually impressive for a Dervish.

yeah i know it..... but, 21 damage isnt the point its more about keeping yourself alive then a quick kill... UW will still take a very long time to solo

You need not, and should not, tank in PvP. You have to do damage quickly as a melee class, or you won't be worth having.

dont forget that this cannot do aataxes, they use one of the ripostes and when i tried a build like this ages ago it still triggered the rip and they attaxes rip you apart, but again that was near around the 1st few months that NF came out so things might be diferent.
there is a UW solo that is a smite run though, might have to search around for it though

Well I tried a 2 man run.
130 Dervish build using the -55 Cesta and Totem axe got my health down to 80 or something (math skills lacking at this moment) using Vow of Silence as a Spell Breaker replacement and my friend as an SS Necro seemed to work OK didn't really try all that much just did it to see what would happen Smites where a pain though.
