The New Joke?-0 Mysticism Dervs
So, today on a CoF run (yeah, the most retarded ppl do those huh) there was a derv running around with 13 scythe, 12 earth and 11 or something wind prayers. I didn't really realize what he said until i realized, he LEFT OUT THE MYSTICISM.
I'm wondering if this is a new fad, if this is what i think it is- stupid and a waste of the derv primary, or the foundation of a legitamate build?

either he had no idea how to play a derv and what sort of benefits you get from mysticism or he was using a build with no enchants. either way i don't see how it could have been a very good build.

Eh, I use a build with 0 mysticism, and guess what, I have less energy problems than I did with any build I've ever used that spent points in mysticism. And yes, I use enchants.

I often don't use Mysticism at all such as a Conjure Lightning build with Wind Prayers for Whirling Charge and Harrier's Haste. Well, actually, I have 3 points into Mysticism.
However, seeing as he has Earth Prayers, I would think he's probably a new fad.

Why he needs that much earth/wind and doesn't use a mysticism elite is beyond me.

- mysticism is only good if u have an mysticism elite or some important mysticism skills, if i use vow of strength i don't use it because it's a waste of points

All the avatars are in Mysticism..
Still, if you're taking vow of strength, pretty much your whole bar will be enchantments so why wouldn't you spec mysticism?

correct,
GW is a game where you have to think about what you bring in order to win. Unfortunately, PvE is that easy

Heket's Rampage is generally the best IAS for Vow of Strength.

The intelligence of the average goldfish is higher compared to a good percent of GW PvEers (and ABers).

u should have atleast 3 mythism in prettymuch all cases as a derv, as there is almost awlays a leftover 2 -3 points of attribute for u to use. Otherwise ur kinda stupid for not utilizing all ur attributes

Only thing I can think of is someone using [wiki]Zealous Vow[/wiki] as energy management...but, I fail to see how it's better than a build that uses mysticism.

And attitudes like that are why most PvE'ers dont PvP. People like you are the main reason i quit PvP.
Anyways, unless you run with Avatars I dont see the point of Mysticism.

Energy return. The fact that others' enchantments (e.g. prot monks) also trigger it makes it even better.

Exactly. That is the main reason I put at least 9 into it. With a prot monk and your own enchantments, you should have enchantments ending every few seconds during battle, giving you a good amount of energy (and the health helps a little).
