Dervish Build Thread
I've noticed recently that we no longer have a sticky with good Dervish builds for the people interested in starting a Dervish or for those who wanna try something different. I decided to post a few of the builds I use. I encourage the Dervish vets to post their builds so we can compile a list of good builds. Also feel free to correct any mistakes I may have made in my post and let me know if there is anything else I should add/change.
==Vow of Strength/Pet Build==
Template: OgKkYlp8ayO03mMIwGtxmBAAAAAA
Dervish/Ranger
1. Vow of Strength
2. Aura of Holy Might
3. Heket’s Rampage
4. Comfort Animal
5. Charm Animal
6. Optional
7. Optional
8. Optional
Optional skills:
Mystic Regeneration (Since the build is enchantment heavy and already invests in earth prayers for Vow of Strength this is a decent skill for self heal).
”I am the Strongest!” (For even more damage).
Great Dwarf Armor (Additional life and armor for improved survivability).
Conviction (Additional armor for improved survivability).
Resurrection Signet (If you are playing with other people).
Attributes:
Scythe Mastery: 12+1+1
Earth Prayers: 9+1
Mysticism: 3
Beast Mastery: 9
Equipment:
Elemental/Sundering/Vampiric/Zealous Scythe Snathe with strength and honor or guided by fate inscription and Scythe Grip of Enchanting. (This build is based on running many enchantments a Scythe Grip of Enchanting is best for this build).
Windwalker Hood of Scythe Mastery (Hood should already be +1 to Scythe Mastery).
Windwalker Robe of Vitae / Attunement
Windwalker Gloves of Minor Earth Prayers
Windwalker Leggings of Vitae / Attunement
Windwalker Shoes of Superior Vigor
(Because of the many enchantments used in this build Windwalker Insignias are best and will give you a nice armor boost, if you feel you are having energy problems even when using a zealous scythe you could add in attunement runes on the Robe and Leggings).
Pros:
High and consistent dps
Animal companion is another body to take and deal damage
Cons:
No attack skills (A C space build)
No condition or hex removal
Enchantment removal can shut down this build completely
==Avatar of Lyssa Spiker==
Template: OgCikysMFfxc1c1DKDKuBAAAAA
Dervish/X
1. Avatar of Lyssa
2. Mystic Sweep
3. Eremite’s Attack
4. Aura of Holy Might
5. Heart of Fury
6. Eternal Aura
7. Optional
8. Optional
Optional skills:
Protectors strike (Like mystic sweep and eremite's attack it’s fast activation time make it great to use on foes activating skills).
”I am the Strongest!” (For even more damage).
Great Dwarf Armor (Additional life and armor for improved survivability).
Wild Blow (Instant Critical and stance removal).
Resurrection Signet (If you are playing with other people).
Attributes:
Scythe Mastery: 12+1+1
Mysticism: 12+1
Equipment:
Elemental/Sundering/Vampiric/Zealous Scythe Snathe with strength and honor or guided by fate inscription and Scythe Grip of Enchanting. (I recommend a Scythe Grip of Enchanting to maintain enchantments for as long as possible).
Windwalker Hood of Scythe Mastery (Hood should already be +1 to Scythe Mastery).
Windwalker Robe of Vitae
Windwalker Gloves of Minor Mysticism
Windwalker Leggings of Vitae
Windwalker Shoes of Superior Vigor
(Because of the many enchantments used in this build Windwalker Insignias are best and will give you a nice armor boost).
Pros:
Insane dps to foes activating skills
Ability to take down enemies very quickly
A lot of energy to spam attacks and enchantments
Cons:
No condition or hex removal
Enchantment removal can be a problem
==Avatar of Melandru Deep Wound Spammer==
Template: OgCikysMJfFg1DKDKuBAAAAAAA
Dervish/X
1. Avatar of Melandru
2. Wearying Strike
3. Eternal Aura
4. Aura of Holy Might
5. Heart of Fury
6. Optional
7. Optional
8. Optional
Optional skills:
”I am the Strongest!” (For even more damage)
Great Dwarf Armor (Additional life and armor for improved survivability)
Wild Blow (Instant Critical and stance removal)
Resurrection Signet (If you are playing with other people).
Flail (Can be used to replace Heart of Fury if you are having energy management issues)
Drunken Master (Can be used to replace Heart of Fury, has a long duration but not as effective increased attack speed unless drunk)
Draw Conditions (Can transfer negative conditions from an ally to yourself without having to worry about the negative effects of the conditions)
Imbue Health (Because of the inherent life bonus provided by Avatar of Melandru you should be able to heal an ally for the max of 300 hit points)
Zealous Sweep (Good for energy management can provide up to 9 energy if you hit 3 foes)
Attributes:
Scythe Mastery: 12+1+1
Mysticism: 12+1
Equipment:
Zealous Scythe Snathe with strength and honor or guided by fate inscription and Scythe Grip of Enchanting. (I recommend a Scythe Grip of Enchanting to maintain enchantments for as long as possible). I also recommend bringing a staff; the bonus to energy will help you put up Avatar of Melandru if you are low on energy or have any death penalty.
Windwalker/Survivor Hood of Scythe Mastery (Hood should already be +1 to Scythe Mastery).
Windwalker/Survivor Robe of Vitae/Attunement
Windwalker/Survivor Gloves of Minor Mysticism
Windwalker/Survivor Leggings of Vitae/Attunement
Windwalker/Survivor Shoes of Superior Vigor
Pros:
Immunity to conditions
Ability to spam Wearying Strike without the negative effect of suffering from weakness
The high bonus to life makes you very difficult to kill while under the effect of Avatar of Melandru
Cons:
No hex removal
High energy cost of Avatar of Melandru
==Onslaught Wind Prayer Build==
I wouldn't call this build elite but I have been testing it in different areas with pretty good success. It's the only build I have focusing on the wind prayer line.
Template: OgCjkyqM7QabkbygIYTXAAAAAAA
Dervish/X
1. Onslaught
2. Attacker’s Insight
3. Aura of Holy Might
4. Whirling Charge
5. Mystic Twister
6. Optional
7. Optional
8. Optional
Optional skills:
”I am the Strongest!” (For even more damage)
Great Dwarf Armor (Additional life and armor for improved survivability)
Wild Blow (Instant Critical and stance removal)
Resurrection Signet (If you are playing with other people).
Drunken Master/Flail (Can be used to replace Whirling Charge)
Chilling Victory (Good conditional damage and the energy cost isn’t a big deal because of attacker’s insight and Onslaught)
Mystic Sweep & Eremite’s attack (Always nice to have two fast activating attack skills on hand, with onslaught and attacker’s insight you will be gaining energy and the skills will recharge faster)
Attributes:
Scythe Mastery: 12+1+1
Wind Prayers: 12+1
Mysticism: 3
Equipment:
Elemental/Sundering/Vampiric Scythe Snathe with strength and honor or guided by fate inscription and Scythe Grip of Enchanting. (This build is based on running many enchantments a Scythe Grip of Enchanting is best for this build).
Windwalker/Survivor Hood of Scythe Mastery (Hood should already be +1 to Scythe Mastery).
Windwalker/Survivor Robe of Vitae/Attunement
Windwalker/Survivor Gloves of Minor Wind Prayers
Windwalker/Survivor Leggings of Vitae/Attunement
Windwalker/Survivor Shoes of Superior Vigor
Pros:
Energy management shouldn’t be an issue
Onslaught recharges skills 25% faster allowing you to spam your attack skills more often for solid dps
Cons:
No condition or hex removal
Enchantment removal can shut down this build

why everyone says u have to take protector's strike, it does only +10 damage or so, fast activation time is good but there are limits, with an other attackskill u do mayby 30 damage, and not all foes activate skills

Because it has an IAS integrated into the skill itself.
Think of it as an interrupt skill if using Avatar of Lyssa, resulting in more damage than interrupt.

You use it when an enemy uses a skill and you get the bonus damage from AoL which is +44 at 13 mysticism.

go through your post and switch every time it says 'sundering' to elemental. sundering blows, elemental is ftw on about half of PvE.
switch the bar on the VoS/Pet build to:
VoS
AoHM
Heket's
charm
comfort
optional
optional
optional
that build is all utility
and get a melandru, wounding, reaper's and dwanya build up there!
good idea though

I'll have one of them cookies too, thanks.
As for builds, an interesting one I found was one for Melonni. I previously had thought Dervish heroes were pretty bad outside of Orders builds, then I stumbled on this:
[skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill][skill]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill][skill]Heart of Fury[/skill][skill]Mystic Corruption[/skill][wiki]Zealous Sweep[/wiki][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]Crippling Sweep[/skill][skill]Death Pact Signet[/skill]
It's simple and uncluttered, so Melonni uses it very well, providing she has an ebon scythe of course. I don't trust her with an Earth Enchantment. If it were a human though, I'd be tempted to drop Faithful Intervention in favour of Staggering Force so that I could use a Zealous scythe, but still trigger EDA. I ripped through Vloxen Excavations with that build on Melonni, and a Splinter-Rage Rit. Humans would be able to switch out skills like Mystic Corruption for something more useful, though too complicated for Melonni I feel.
Edit: To add attributes:
Earth Prayers: 8 + 1
Mysticism: 10 + 1 + 1
Scythe Mastery: 12 + 1
Weapon choice for Melonni: Ebon Scythe of Enchanting...though mine has an Ebon Scythe of Warding because I'm too cheap and lazy to buy her an enchanting mod, and if she's blinding physicals, elemental damage seems more of a threat, at least, that's my theory. I should invest in one though if I plan on using her more...a longer Heart of Fury is always good.
Weapon choice for a Human Player: Zealous scythe of Enchanting, and use an Earth Conversion skill such as Staggering Force so you get the bonus of Earth Damage and Zealous energy return. Keep an Ebon Scythe as a weapon swap in case Staggering Force is stripped.

How did you split up the attributes on that build if you don't mind?

I think it went something like:
Earth Prayers: 8 + 1
Mysticism: 10 + 1 + 1
Scythe Mastery: 12 + 1
Added to my first post for clarity.

At rank one, AOHM boosts scythe damage by about 40%. I can't think of a skill that will boost your damage more, which is why I slot AOHM on just about everything.
edit: numbers time...
12 Scythe Mastery, critical for 80 damage (using Wild Blow)
cast AOHM (rank 1), Wild Blow again - 115 damage instead
and if my maths isn't as rusty as I hope it ain't, that's 43.75% more damage at just rank 1 - AOHM increases damage rating, not damage so the end effect is much stronger.

AoHM is one of the best dervish enchantment spells in the game and like Alex I always make room for it on my bar.

Ok thanks. And as you said, I thought it boosted damage, not damage rating.
I guess I'll just do some ABing to get 100K Factions and then go get AoHM =D

If you have eye of the north you could use "I am the Strongest!" its a decent alternative until you get AoHM.

Don't got "I am the Strongest" yet, seem to be stuck with Cold as Ice, where you need to kill the griphon :P

Here's a link on how to beat the griffon. The way i did it is at the bottom of the page. It worked really well, it just takes a while.
