need help fixing my derv build.
I decided to play my derv again since it was fun but my build has always sucked, now im trying out
http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:D/...thazar_Dervish
but I seem to be doing even less damage with wild blow because it seems useless and res signet sucks
right now im using
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Asterius%27_Scythe
which works really well with Zealous Renewal for alot of energy regen.
should I just switch back to monk for real res and maybe avatar of lyssa to replace balth and heart of fury to replace wild blow?

For that build, I would probably substitute in Victorious Sweep in place of any scythe skill you feel doesnt work well (Wild Blow maybe?). I'd also sugget crafting a Res scroll, dropping Res Signet and replacing with something like Faithful Intervention which should up the bonus damage on your Mystic Sweep skill a bit.
This build has worked well for me so far; you may wanna try it out yourself (from left to right):
Faithful Intervention
Flail
Vital Boon
Mystic Regeneration
Victorious Sweep
Reaper's Sweep
Chilling Victory
<random>
12 Mysticism
13 Scythe Mastery
remaining in Earth
With the introduction of PvE skills, I've sub'ed in Great Dwarf Armor in place of Vital Boon and Mental Block in place of the <random> slot.

Just read the Dervish forums before you make build threads like this... There is at least two large ones with working builds.
Res signet sucks? Uninstall Guild Wars please.
Avatar of Balthazar is a terrible skill. Use AoL in NM and AoM in HM if you want to use avatars.
Defensive Earth Prayers is useless in general PvE.

Wild Blow is only used when your enemy has a stance or if you just want to hit someone with an enchantment that blocks. It isn't for damage. If you are having problems with enemies that have enchantments on them (ie: Ageis, Guardian, Shiverarmor, etc.) use Avatar of Grenth with Wild Blow.
With the Build/W PvE Avatar of Balthazar Dervish, you only have 2 enchantments on you, so Mystic Sweep doesn't do much for you.
Please remember, you are a mid-line warrior or at least the 2nd wave warrior (the guy that attacks after the warrior rushes in), so rezing isn't something you really need to worry about.
I find experimenting in a H/H group will give you a good idea what is good and what isn't. I don't use builds that are found on wiki, because it is more fun to find a build that you can use well on your own.
But as Blurmedia said, there builds listed in this forum, you should look at those. Although I don't understand what Blurmedia said regarding Earth Defensive prayers being useless in general PvE. In general PvE, everything works, lol. Although I think the point was Dervishes should be about damage output, and let the monks provide healing and enchantment blocking.

In PvE, I am a firm believe that a res sig in a bar is a waste now that they offer Res Scrolls for crafting in EotN. I mainly do not like the idea of being limited to a 7-skill bar because of having one equipped.
I can see where a monk goes down in the middle of a battle and a sig would be nice to have. But I think that if it gets to a point where one of your monks die, there was some serious problem with agro control from the front line people. Of course, i understand that there are exceptional sitations.
Just my $0.02...
But back to topic at hand... it's as the previous poster said, you should be focusing on damage output (as well as agro control IMO). Earth skills are very useful depending on how you have your build set up.

Avatar of Balthazar is just bad. the only thing it's good at is as a Runner and even then there are better options...
if you like Avatars use Lyssa along with 2-3 attack skills and some enchantments. Eternal Aura, Aura of Holy Might and Heart of Fury come to mind. you can also bring some sort of self heal/survival if you cant trust your monks...

I was just thinking, if you were going war secondary, why not add SY to the mix? Since you're hitting multiple foes and w/an IAS, you should be a great help to your team.

If you really want damage:
Try Avatar of Lyssa. At 11 mythticism (what I run), it's +38 dmg when foes are using skills.
Then, add in daggers (quick attack speed), along with a chain combo containing Death Blossom, and voila, yellow numbers popping up :P
Shroud of Defense and Shadow Refuge for defense.

Dude YOU are an idiot.... Why would he give up the most damage dealing weapon in game for the lowest?
Seriously if you want damage take Lyssa at 12+1 myst and scythe at 12+1+1 and use quick activating attack skills such as [mystic sweep][eremites attack][protectors strike] and such to get the full use out of Lyssa.

This person has been oozing stupid on the assassin forums as well. I suggest you completely disregard him/her and keep using the best melee weapon in the game.
