Default Derv Build for AB

Hey everyone.

I made this Derv build using this build off of PvXwiki as base, from which I started building from.

Anyways, I was hoping you guys could critique it and give some suggestions. Keep in mind that I am using this Derv for AB only and nothing else. Also, don't suggest any skills from EoTN because I do not have it.

The Build:

Dervish / Elementalist

Scythe Mastery: 12 + 1 + 1
Mysticism: 8 + 1
Wind Prayers: 8 + 1
Air Magic: 7

[Wounding Strike][Mystic Sweep][Chilling Victory][Grenth's Fingers][Heart of Fury][Conjure Lightning][Attacker's Insight][Dwayna's Touch]

Hopefully you guys can make it even better~!

Drop [grenths fingers] for [storm djinns haste] if you dont have eotn. imo Simply because it makes you deal cold damage thus making your conjure useless. [signet of mystic speed] is far superior to [storm djinns haste] but [[storm djinns haste] will work.

The only problem with [Storm Djinn's Haste] is that each second I move I lose one energy. My Derv only has like 33 energy, so I cannot really afford to lose 1 energy each second I am moving with [Storm Djinn's Haste]

with your energy regen it shouldn't be that big of a deal

yeah with ur regen of 4 u still actually gain energy if u keep moving with storm djinn's on just a lot slower

Hm. I opted to go with [Faithful Intervention] instead of [Grenth's Fingers] because its an enchantment that I don't need to keep reapplying every time I enter a new battle unless my Health goes under 50%. I also needed something to back me up if I cannot use [Dwayna's Touch].

What do you guys think about that?

I still think [Featherfoot Grace] is an underrated IMS, since it is kind of a condition counter too. It's easily chainable if you have a +20 enchant, although it is a little expensive.

[Storm Djinn's Haste] is nice if you're speccing into air, but I've generally found the Conjures to be a tad overused--you can usually count on other dervishes to be carrying it, so I usually like to carry [crippling sweep] or something to help them out. Nothing is better than crippling 3 c-spacers with one swipe!

I need to go over my derv skills....

Anyway if you have 4 energy regen you don't lost energy while running with [[storm djinns haste] on you. At 3 regen you can keep it up always.

You need a run skill a lot more than you need another heal. Since you get to choose your allies for AB, you should already have another healer in the party, and your heal will just be for backup.

The rest of your bar is pretty good for spikes/DPS though.

For self heals in AB I use [Vital Boon] followed by [Pious Restoration] for a 200+ point heal every 8 or so seconds and shockingly good hex defense. As long as I have something else up (usually [Mystic Regeneration] , during fights at least) Necros and Mesmers learn pretty quickly that I'm a target not worth hexing. Some keep trying anyway, but they usually don't meet with much success.

Also, I feel compelled to dispute the characterization that one should "already have another healer in the party"--theyre okay, but not essential to have in AB, unlike HA or GvG or whatever. I like running with monks in AB, but I won't usually go out of my way to find them and I think most people build their bars accordingly.

yup, as others have said [skill]grenth's fingers[/skill] is counter productive in your current build, however if you'd switch [skill]conjure lightning[/skill] with [skill]conjure frost[/skill] than I guess It will work.
however you still lack IMS and crippling wont always solve the problem.

by the way, the old Wounding Spike build(pre EotN) is:
[Wounding Strike][Mystic Sweep][Eremite's Attack][Heart of Fury][Storm Djinn's Haste][Conjure Lightning][Faithful Intervention][Resurrection Signet]
you could make some changes like using [Chilling Victory] and [Attacker's Insight] and also replace the IMS if you want. and obviously take out [Resurrection Signet] as you're in AB...

[eremites attack] -> [chilling victory]
[resurrection sig] / [faithful intervention] -> [attacker's insight]
